for those who don't remember me, i smashed my zed. no insurance. and 2 frickin years later, i'm getting there.

any who... any kits or front half cuts out there need box section, let me know please..

question... while motor is out and panel beating getting done. What should i do? dont know if engine is affected from accident or not. Twin turbo. Manual. But being that the motor coming out is one of the biggest expenses we all come across at modification time, how can i use it as an advantage? what should be done whilst its out? Any advice at this trying timer would be greatly appreciated. (previous mod's include triple plate button clutch, slotted rotors, bov's (unsure if damaged or not), exhaust)

    Thanks guys

Depends where the car was impacted as to whether the engine

    would require repair or not!

I certainly would carefully inspect all the mounting forgings and brackets for cracks and distortion.

I would inspect the bell housing for same especially around the attachment bolts.

This will give you some indication as to what forces imapcted on the engine/gearbox. Check the condition of the driveshaft and see if has been bent or does it still turn freely?

Turn the engine over by hand to check that the cylinder bores havent rusted up over the last 2 years.
If it is seized then its an engine overhaul.

To assess what you could do while the engine is out largely depends on what the engine was like before the accident......had you done a compression check?

Was the engine noisy or did it run reasonably quiet.
Had the 100000 klm service been carried out?

What about fixing that det sensor or those oxy sensors?:)

I would certainly change the rear oil seal and get rid of the under plenum hoses and if it were me I would rip the heads off and do a valve grind.

That should keep you going for a while

    regards John
