My keyless entry/ Immobiliser wont work. The only way into the zed is to open the door manually with the key. Usually this would trigger the car alarm, however nothing happens. When I try to start the car, nothing happens either, just as if the immobiliser is engaged.

The lights, CD player etc all work still. I've charged the battery just to be sure, but it seems fine. I'm assuming theres an issue with the immobiliser/alarm relay?

Can anyone recommend an auto elec, or someone zed savvy who could do a housecall to the Morningside area (Brisbane) and help get the zed back on the road.

    Cheers

    RACQ?

Can you see a fuse in the alarm wiring?
    Remove it.
Cut the power wire for the alarm, so you can drive it to an auto electrician.

    Better idea,
Phone the auto electricians in your area until one of them tells you what to do.
Then drive to him so he can reinstall your alarm and fix it.

Find out what type of immobiliser you have, then call manufacturer. I had to do this with my car to reset the codes.

    Good call.

Another thing, do you know the 'key turn' code for the immobiliser? Mine has a 4-digit code that corresponds to the number of times I turn the key in the ignition to 2nd position, with each digit separated by a press of the unlock immobiliser button. Basically there so you can get your car started with just the key if you lose or damage the immoboliser on your keychain. If you had it installed, probably gave it to you - maybe sitting with the Z receipts on in your glovebox if you're lucky?
