    Hi All,

I'm a long time lurker to these forums, but have never actually posted anything, and since I actually bought a Zed, I figure I should introduce myself before I randomly started posting :)

The Zed I bought actually belonged to forum member the_cypha, and he has been most helpful with the whole process, I don't think I could be a worse customer :(

I'm currently in the process of working through the QLD -> NSW registration process, and boy is it fun . I didn't know the_cypha's Zed had a pod filter installed in it, and I'm wondering if that will give me problems with the blue slip process *Worried*

A little bit about myself, I'm a bit of a motor head but a complete noob when it comes with 300s (please be gentle with me :(). Currently my daily drive is a Peugeot 206 GTi (yes, front wheels) and a Peugeot 205 SI before that.

Living in NSW... and I guess thats most of it for now.

Look forward to talking to you guys about... stuff :D

    Welcome to the forum mate!

Congrats on your purchase. Having a pod filter may pose an issue, so you could hit up the NSW boys for the stock airbox, shouldn't be hard to find or expensive, since almost everyone runs some type of pod on their zeds.

Hope you sort the transfer / rego issue quickly so you can get out of your little French car and start cruising in the zed! :p:D

also the tech section on this forum is great.. i have no mechanical history and im currently doing a plenum pull by following the instructions...

    good luck with the car...

Thanks for the welcome guys =) have to admit I was a little scared to introduce myself to a group of motor heads

*points to myself, the self confessed noob* :(

hahaha there's nothing wrong with the Pug, although after driving the 300zx it does seem lacking somewhat =__=. I might have to wait a little bit longer for that cruise though, an engine strip and rebuild may be in the works... just because I want to pull a VG30 apart :D

Funny you should say that. Me and my mate were at supercheap and said "bugger it lets give the 300 a service". So we bought filters and sparks, thinking everything was stock. I get home and start changing things... I open the nose up and there it is, a pod staring me in the face. My mate and I were surprised because we were expecting the stock pannels lol

So now I have two spare stock 300zx air filters hah

I guess I can take it to attempt blue slip, worse case they say no and ask someone to borrow a stock air box =)

The problem is that if the car came in under the 15 year rule, it would have been complied in QLD. That compliance is no good for NSW. I believe they will let you transfer provided it has been registered in QLD for a few years.

In my case, I bought a car from QLD that had never been registered in Australia at all, so I had to get it recomplied in NSW. That included an engineers report and emissions and noise tests. Car then had to be close to 100% stock, pod filter the least of the problem. Engineer fine combs the car, checks markings on brake hoses, lights, windows, checks speed of wipers, indicators, measures track width, seat belts, side intrusion bars etc.

Hopefully you don't have to go through that.

lol, that's awesome! I always thought my wipers were a little fast. Used to tell my non-zed friends "See, it's a true sports car, even the wipers are quick!" :p

    Thanks again all =)

I'm wondering if I should appear at the up comming NSW Tech day to meet and greet some people, and get a handle of that more fun is in store for me :p

Yeah i'm pretty happy, the interior is something special, but there are a few odds and ends that I would like to sort out. I'm pretty sure the original owner will see it again once i'm done, have to make sure he knows he gave it a good home :p

hahaha its been a while since I've been involved with forums, but i've been looking for a good.. um... "relaxation" activity while at work, and consumerist.com angries up the blood too much ^^
