As the title suggests, I'm deep into the craze that is the 300zx, bought one this morning and I'm extremely happy with it I suppose I should tell you a bit about myself as you'll no doubt see a lot more posts from me in the future, I have big plans for my new toy I'm a Vic boy, from SE 'burbs. 18. currently a VCE student (not for long, exams coming up in a few weeks O.O) I guess the only reason you're all still reading is to see pics right? Here ya go Keep an eye out for further threads with what i have in store for her
welcome to madness central....... have fun and if you have not already, start reading the tech section....
Welcome to the Z world! Congrats on your purchase - with a good clean, polish and wax, should look even better! :zlove: Would love to see that front antenna shaved off though.... lol EDIT: 2+2 na auto by the look of it, do you know what year it is?
Hi and welcome. Isn't that "front antenna" actually a parking guide and not for radio. If so don't break it and send it my way.
Correct - not a radio antenna. Quite rare - I think there's only 1 car over here in the west (forum based of course) that has one.
It was an optional extra on the Jap release cars. I don't know how it is activated. I have seen pics in some brochures posted here on the forum, but don't know which thread. Check to see if all your fuses are intact, including the ones under the bonnet. If you do decide to remove I call first dibs.
cheers I'll have a closer look when I actually pick it up, i know the surrounding plastic of it is cracked though. I'll keep you in mind Now if only I can figure out how to thank you in the post?? >.< sorry for the noobishness haha
it's just a parking aid so you know where the front of the bumper is. They are not that rare. I've seen a number of zeds with them, most of the antennae, like yours, are not operational.
Quite common In Japan, used as a parking aid, plenty of other imports have them too, some are motorised, some have lights in them. think i have one laying around here somewhere
That's not bad, bout an hour from me, closest to you would be Rod I'd say. Come to the BBQ in a few weeks, you'll meet some of the Melbourne crew if they decide to come out of hiding!
The day before my first exam >.< may have to give that one a miss haha, I'll definitely join in any future events though, keen to meet everybody and cruise.
Yeah, sorry to confuse you when I said antenna - you can see your radio antenna on the rear right... They just look like a pimple to me, or a mole - and not in a Cindy Crawford kind of way.
Thats dinh's old car! Few things changed, looks better though. Link for more pics/ what it looked like: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=313400&highlight=yellow+300zx+leather
Looks like evidence of repair work in a section on the rear bar where it's been reversed into a pole or something maybe? Shame, the pearl yellow is probably the hardest colour to match and keep even due to how it fades
That was my old car , and congratulation on buying it . Did you buy it through Gumtree ? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/st-albans/cars/1990-nissan-300zx-coupe/1007562510# . Very good price , mate . I think , I should let you know that , the guy who bought my car ( also , he is member here - VexxZX ) told me he had problem with the over heating issue ( after he bought it about 2 months ) . I know my car was very good , and running perfect but god know what happen . Here is copy of his Pm to me :
Hey Dinh, this is Cory, the guy who bought your beautiful yellow 300zx =] So far i've been loving the car but recently she has been overheating and no amount of searching can solve this problem, i was just wondering if you ever had problems with her overheating at all and if so what was the problem? So far i've flushed the radiator, replaced thermostat, replaced clutch fan, and i'm out of ideas. She is an amazing car, beautiful drive, and i couldn't be happier up until this point. Can you please tell me what work you had done on her just so i know for future reference what issues you faced and overcame, cheers
I hope everything is sort out now . Cheers .
