Just wondering if anyone is using an ignition amplifier in their Zeds at all and if they have found it beneficial on the track.
apparently can be good when running 25+ psi boost so you dont need 2 gap your spark plugs 2 tight.. bar that i wouldnt worry. i assume your talking about HKS DLI or even the microtech X6 box
Track or otherwise wouldnt make a difference. If the spark is breaking down under heavy loads.. then its one thing that could help fix it.. behind gapping the plugs suitably and bigger coils.. But a suitably gapped plug should last on the normal system right up to a fair wack of boost.. it shouldnt be required. PZP Tom was looking at using a CDI from a Ford or something to enhance the spark considerably.. that might be a better option if you want to go down that route.
Heheheh Microtech X6??? Just a couple of generic Bosch trigger moudules (PTU's) in them. Most likely Bosch 200's. Nothing special. A straight "dumb" trigger. But, a very affordable and reliable alternative to the dreaded S1 PTU failure. Straight wire in and off you go. im surprised more dudes dont use them in preference to the very pricey S2 ptu replacement. L8tr E
2 of these for you Chrispy. Here: http://www.microtech-efi.com/product/27.html There is an X6 version as well. I seem to recall something like 140 odd bucks or so. Very good value. L8tr E L8tr E
Yep Both are "dumb" triggers. Both do the same job. Im not sure on the wiring colours on the Microtech Xbox tho. L8tr E
Nah. Not ever seen one but ask them. U never know. Like I said b4, youll need 2 of them for your bent 8! L8tr E

I think Zisluv used the HKS amplifier... I am using standard ignition system with Splitfire coils and no probs with spark at big boost. Current slot car motor used standard ignition system for a couple of years but currently using splitfires. I think you'd be OK using well maintained factory gear.
