We're not sure if you're taking the piss here...

but it sounds like you've been scammed. I don't even know if there is an IAT(?) and 20 hp from a resistor is from the 'if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is' camp.

If you actually believed that you could get 20 hp from a resistor you should have bought it from Dick Smith for 50 cents.

    Cheers,
    Evan.

    possibly not a complete scam.

don't know exactly how they work, but i understood they were hooked up to the air flow meter. the idea may be to intercept signal and trick computer into thinking there is less air than there is, and hence run lean. hence giving more power. 20hp is way optimistic though.

having said that, i highly recommend you take that resistor and throw it in the bin. there is no way such a hack mod can be considered safe. could well result in running too lean -> detonation -> big $$$ repair.

hope you didn't spend too much.

And learn from your mistake. IAT stands for Inlet Air Temperature, and the little waste of money you are holding is a resistor that is designed to alter the ECU's reading of the air temperature as it passes through the MAF, thus altering your fuel map. Unfortunately the Z32 doesn't use IAT so there isn't much you can do with it.

    Bodgey upgrade!!!

The resistor is meant to fool the ecu by telling it the air temp is cold (<40 deg farenheight) this inturn makes the fuel mix richer (switching to another air/fuel map). As a result, in normal air temp, you get a bit more fuel into the engine. As far as 20hp, I doubt it very much as the other sensors would compensate.
