I was in a car accident 2 hours ago :angry:

It's a long story, but I'll cut it down.

I was leaving my girlfriends place and proceeded with a 3-point turn to get out of the street. As doing so I saw a VK commodore 200 meters up the road doing an erratic U-turn.
I had finished the 2nd point of the turn and then BANG! The VK hit the front left hand side of the car. The driver of teh VK tried to squeeze between my car and the footpath I was reversing from! It ripped the rear bumper from the VK. The driver of the VK, a young female bogan, then jumped out of the VK and started yelling abuse at me.
Then (thank the gods) a Police 4x4 car pulled into the street. I waved down the officer, at this stage all the occupants of the VK had got out. Two females, including driver, and three male, they were all young.
Now the best bit, the female driver did a runner by foot. I let the police officer know, but wait, there's more. A guy walked over to me who pulled into the street in his car just before the police 4x4. He told me he saw the young bogan lady yelling at me in the middle of the road. I told him she was the driver. Then he flashed me his police badge and gave me his details.
Anyway, one of the male occupants said he was driving, & it turns out none of them had a drivers licence, AND... the car was registered to Motors caryard!
Another police car turned up, but they went looking for the driver of the VK. I was told I could go after giving my statement and waiting an hour. My car was still driveable, received a cracked front indicator and nice impact crater in the front LHS. On the way home I passed they female driver in a phone box, so I pulled over and rang the police. But I doubt they'll find her.
Looks like I maybe needed in court :wacko:

BTW: I was in my father's car, still not good, but thank god it wasn't the Zed!

there are some stupid people in this world. I can't believe people would try and 'squeeze' past in a tank like a VK.

They should not be able to obtain a liscence till they are 25.

The police must have obtained the female drivers name from one of the passengers, because the first officer on scene quietly said in my ear before I left the scene that she is well known to the Police. So they know who she is which is great.
Still not sure how I'm going to get money out of them, as my father only has 3rd party on his car.
I forgot to mention, Tracy, who witnessed the whole thing from the side of the road said the VK sped up, and never looked like stopping.
I'm just glad that my fathers car was hit in such a way that no major structural damage was obtained.

Fckin Bogans. I doubt you will get any money out of those scumbags. If the car is owned by a caryard then their insurance might coff it up, after all it is their responsibilty to secure the car even though it may have been stolen. Just an idea, I'm sure there are a number of avenues to look at.

Bloody lucky no one was hurt.

Did you say the car was registered to a caryard. I'd be approaching them for payment. I'd always thought that the yards carried insurance for damage their cars caused when being driven. Also, if the driver wasn't licenced, they were negligent for giving her the car.

it seems something about VK VL's or something was on the CT cruise and yeah had a idiot in a VK and an idiot in a VL being dickheads goin in and out of traffic at one stage the knob head in the VL cut me off yeah...

Mate what is it about Bogans in Commodores in your state!

I had 2 of them try and take me off the roads while down there! One decided he didnt want us to pass him so proceeded to swerve into the gravel on each side of the road, trying to spit up rocks. I had never seen the both cars before and just came up behind before trying to pass. They proceeded to swerve all over the road in an attempt to stop me passing :wacko: I just stayed back and waited for them to give up or crash:LOL:.
Very weird, twice in a week, related cousins maybe:LOL:.

on the serious side good thing it wasn't the z and good thing u weren't injured.
i would have thought that if your dad claimed it as a not at fault claim that then his insurance company would then chase the person for the bill, i know when some bogan once again in a commodore reversed into my old car whilst on her l's with no licenced drive, had booze in her system and gave her sisters details instead, that my insurance company never penalised me and apparantly then went to her for the cost of it, but mind u i did have comp insurance

but such a relief when i finally found out that it wasn't your zed, reading through your initial post i was thinkin "crap, thats one beautiful zed", sigh of relief towards the end...

sux tho coz at the end of the day, it was still a car from the same house that got damaged:thumbsdown: i hate it how some ppl juz seem to not care bout other drivers on the road, i almost got crushed into the edge of the brigde this morning...three lanes were merging into 2 lanes, i was in the left lane so needed to change into the right lane, indicated, was cutting in, waves and everything, this absolute B!@#* juz ploughed straight through and gave me the biggest dirty look...i was furious, but what do u do...

ah well, anywayz, sorry to hear you dads car got hit, but glad it wasn't ur 300...

haha funny story, well not funny for you or your dad but i just pictured a VK full of bogans with no licenses, and then the driver doing a ben cousins. hahah.

hope they catch the tards and hope you get some kind of compensation, although its doubtful if they are bogans.

 

Quick update:

The police paid me a visit at work yesterday to get an official statement from me.
They have spoken with the female driver, and she came clean & told the true story in a video interview at the police HQ. So that's good, won't be needed to give evidence in court now.

The bad thing, she is only 16 years old. Has no job, and is always in trouble with the law. So there goes the hope of getting any revenue from her to pay for the damage she caused to my fathers car.

Anyone have a spare Mazda '93 626 front bumper? :LOL:
Shit happens, & I'm not going to let it get to me. I'll just pay to have it fixed and move on.

Any chance you can get it pointed your way.

At least be something if you can get your lawns mowed for the next 5 years or so.

You never know - you might be the person responsible for turning her into a good citizen.
