i want to get an idea of how many tt versus na owners on the forum there really are..

i own a tt Auto daily driver, every day's a fun day.

 

Auto TT, it's what I wanted!

 

You've probably got yourself a statistically valid poll here, about 25% of the active membership.
Seems that about 75% have TTs, 2/3 of which are manuals. Taking both engine types, manuals still seem to outnumber autos by 2:1


manual normally aspirated 22 18.49%
auto normally aspirated 11 9.24%
manual twin turbo 60 50.42%
auto twin turbo 31 26.05%
no zed at all!!!!! 1 0.84%

the stats would suggest :-

common garden variety: manual t/t ... ( and probably red ...!!).

most exclusive variety : auto N/A ... ( and definitely BLACK..!!)

but i still beleive that there are more autos out there than manuals,of tt or na because over here in perth,while i was looking i would find approximately one manaul for every 1.5 autos,or theres about........thats why i bought my auto tt and budgeted for the manual conversion (thanks john at cresta),it was the only way i could realistically find to get the car in the colour,trans,engine,seating configuration (2+2) that i wanted.....and i would do it again,even though i have spent bucketloads creating my car so far,with miles to go

You do realize, Barry, that another interpretation of "most exclusive" is "least popular". God, I love statistics!
Now, a RED N/A auto... thats a different kettle of stir-fry!

i would think another reason we are getting less votes for a N/A auto is because alot of these will be owned by people who don?t have that great an interest in cars or their performance and just love to drive them and pay other people to look after them, therefore wouldn?t have a need or want to join a car club. Then again not dissing those faithful members who love their auto N/A's

 

I'm very glad you put that last sentence in your post. The N/A (auto or manual) may not have the snap and snarl of a TT, but I've yet to find a better highway car. And it's more "driveable" around town, too!

TT auto , jpec 2 seater hardtop... sometimes i wish i had a manual... but its great for cruising .
