This would be the total engine capacity so 3 litres.

526hp's pretty good for a 3 litre NA engine. But it does rev over 10k rpm so that would explain it.

its in my post its a 3 litre with 526hp in NA from but they are thinking of doing it with 3 turbos with and estimated 1000hp on 1bar
and its not that big the dimensions are 434mm long, 623mm wide and 448mm high and only weighs 118kgs

lol 9 cylanders to 1 crank, wonder why it revs so high:D

looks pretty sweet, but thats alot of stree on the crank ey.

way to get more power into a smaller space tho

What? A 9 cylinder engine? Of course! Why not? I ahve seen much wieder things than that work quite reliably.

    Technically that is not a W9, more of a T9 I suppose. A W configuration is like 2 V's stuck together, that is like a V and a inline...

    Read (scanned) the thesis

And there is not too much reference to real engine data/performance. But I guess it would take the resources of Nissan/Toyota/GM/Ford to really test it out. A single student can only do so much. Looks like he actually built the engine, but not much info on how it ran.

I personally don't see the need to make such a compact engine. I love the LONG bonnet of the E-type, even the 240Z - 280ZX has a much nicer front end than the 300ZX. The longer the bonnet, the bigger your ego.

It would be nice though to have 1.5 engines @4.5l in place of the 3l V6 in the ZED
