Hey Came across this - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-300ZX-CONVERTIBLE-/221198979515?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item33807c91bb How much are convertables worth (aka non turbos) ? Do you think this is worth the money being asked? (not that I want to buy it) I didn't realise that stock convertables were worth 25K
I mean you could buy forty of these with that money http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Free-Pos...U_Toys_Hobbies_Model_Kits&hash=item417135fb15
They are worth what people are prepared to pay That brown is probably the rarest (and most horrible) colour available on a zed. There's not many verts getting around, even less than slicktops. I spent a bit of time in erik's/cra-z-boys and they do have a nice appeal about them. My preference in zeds is slicktop then vert and then targa.
It's only worth what someone will pay. That thing has been for sale for ages, so he hasn't found someone willing to pay 25k obviously.
I would have assumed that convertibles would get to double the price of an equivalent slicktop. Targas being a nice compromise, but the 2+2 glass is too massive to put behind the front seats, l always end up folding the back seat down and laying them flat. I have taken the targas off and left them in the garage to go for a quick drive (that became a longer drive) and been caught in a sudden shower. So a drop top would be real nice. There is a guy in Brisbane with a converted (from ?) Convertible. Unfinished project that is being parted out. Maybe you can get the rolling shell and build it up again?
30.8 actually(but your odds are improving because I am also selling one of these Hasegawa kits ATM).:zlove::br:
Looks like half a zed, hate them. Could put up with a hatch hard top for one but the flat boot is some ugly looking sh?t
The Brown pooh thing again - lol Chrispy: Yep - remember the colour stats - brown was on the bottom as the least desired colour of a Z - I guess metallic pooh is better than standard pooh ! Ryzan: I think it will sit there for a longer time as well Chili: So how much is my red die cast kyosho 1/12 TT model worth then!
My thoughts exactly. Rarity aside they have to be the ugliest incarnation of a z32 available. I wouldn't buy one full stop.
I've always thought the same thing, they're an ugly weird American thing, with that ute-like flat waist. But they have an appeal for me, maybe it's the rarity. But then, I love targas, so I'd never own one. Ever. I like the color too Thing with the price, looks in really, really good (and standard) condition. Any Z in that condition is gunna be expensive, because most of the ones for sale are shit. Remember, a '91 Aus-spec targa sold recently for ~20k. More kms, but same condition. When they're so good as to be a collector's item, they go for a bit.
never did like them ..never will destroys the Z shape I wonder if that colour came with a supply of these? .
Why buy a zed convertible ? * They are ugly * They are not practical (no security/too hot/too cold) * They are NA * They are auto And those are the good points  If they were half the price of a manual tt coupe, I wouldn't buy one.
Owners of Convertibles clearly demonstrate a degree of taste, style and sophistication far beyond the usual Zed owner. As an aside and to the topic, how many stock standard Zeds on this Forum are insured for $18,000 without argument from a very picky, recognised National Insurer .. ??? My Convertible is beautiful ... and insured for $18,000 .. !!!! Pour the pooh ... I am laughing.
The rarer the car the more money, and nothing wrong with the "Poo " colour , at least you know no one will want too steal it because of the crappy ( pun pun ) colour.
LOL You can keep your 2 seater N/A funny thing........I feel like I am laughing too..............by not having one Sorry......mate ............I'm just your normal biased TT 2+2 Lover All convertables should be painted pooh brown :zlove:
A Vic member had a convertible Zed the same colour a couple of years back. Wonder if it's the same car. It was in mint condition. Only Zed convertible I have ever seen. Cheers Dave
