How would I go about getting a late model (aibag) steering wheel?

As per thread title, wouldn't mind a late model steering wheel, don't actually want the airbag in it, just want the wheel. Any ideas where to get one from?
Or are they rare as?

They wouldn't send it with the airbag detonator still in place would they? isn't it a hazard?

wow thanx for the link biga. Im interested in getting a airbag wheel, the only rpoblem ive got is the cruise control will move to the LH stork opposite the indicator stork. Im not sure the jap specs came with the CC stork as ive only seen it on US spec zeds. Can anyone shed some light on this for me.

 

Some1 (probably you kbro3) ask if they ship to aus, and they said no due to the airbag coming with the wheel.

 

i dont know where to get them from sorry, but i thought it was illegal to have an air bag steering wheel without the air bag???

2nd, unless they have the airbag i dont see the point....the non airbag one is so much hotter

 

i think the airbag one looks better then the pre airbag wheel. I dont understand why u need an airbag though. its not like the pre airbag wheel has one.

 

i always thought it was illegal to either removed an airbag or not have an airbag in a wheel that is supposed to have it.....

its just something to think about is all

 

that would be the case if the model 300zx they have originally had a functional airbag, they are allowed to fit an airbag wheel minus the air bag, since the model did not originally have an airbag..

thank you ed, but i cant do anything till i find out what the part numbers are for the cruise control stork and accompianing parts are first.

Also on a side note there were actually two versions of the airbags in the 300zx. they upgraded it in the last model i think

 

So i'm confused dude, there aren't any cruise control buttons on the late model wheel, how do you turn cruise on?

It wasn't me before, but I did ask them just now, and they replied with exactly what you said, Dj.

I'm now trying to convince the guy to remove the airbag and detonator and just send the wheel lol, i'll let you know how that goes..

as the airbag steering wheel couldnt hold cruise control buttons they put a stork on the steering colum opposite the indicator stork. it looks like this;



But as this is from a US LH drive car, ours would be on the opposite side of the column which i havent seen yet and dout ill be able to find part numbers without some1 helping me first.
