you broke your brace??? how were they tightend last time your wheels were put on? if at a shop chances are they used a gun and overtightened them...

try putting a breaker bar at the end of a ratchet just to break loose the nut....or buy a new wheel brace

The bloke i go to still uses a hand brace then torque wrench to fininsh.Blew me away the first time i watched him.Have never had this done before and was impressed.I will go back every time for shore. He said you could warp the rear disks if you used a rattle gun to tighten ?

There are special torque extensions you can put on a rattle gun that will rattle it up to the perfect torque every time. But very impressive to do it up by hand and a torque wrench.

its also a good way of cracking the refill plug on the side of the diff, best way with that is have the extension bar nearly on the ground and lower the jack on the car very gently :),its amazing the amount various ways of using leverage on a jack

I use a 12V impact wrench to undo nuts. Cost me $30. I use a ratchet to do them up though, don't want to impact them when doing up :p I like my rotors only slightly warped!

go back to whom ever tightened the wheel, ask him to undo the nuts using a brace then get a new brace from him.

Now fit all new studs to your hubs as the existing ones are screwed, stretched in other words and may break whilst driving, spaeking from experience. managed to break all 5 studs during a trip from Rockhampton to Brisbane but thankfully the last two broke doing 40 kMH. I replaced all studs and test the old studs and managed to stretch / break a further 7 studs.

The wanker / tyrefitter working for Tyrepower had used a rattlegun so now all nuts are tightened by hand using a wheel brace with me watching.
