How to remove the ignition barrel

    If someone knows the trick of undoing the two bald-head bolts which secure the ignition barrel assembly on to the steering column, could you please PM me? Was hoping to avoid destroying them by simply drilling them out. Thanks!

    drill them out. The original bolts has a head as part of the bolt which is joined to that dome shaped head. After they are tightnened up. the part that has the hex breaks off leaving the dome gaped bit.

    You cant reuse them. BUT you can buy new ones. I just put Unbreako bolts back in.

    In case your interested Nissan part number is 48703-06F00, about $3 each from CZP so about $10 each from Nissan Australia.
