Ive looked thou tech section and google , you tube nothing to do with 99 spec indicators ive found pic of finished product of LED ones but nothing on how they pull the lence off. Ive seen how they do it with the head lights oven 200c 5min but not sure if i should try it on the indicators all thou they use the same method on other makes that have all plastic headlights. any one done this one before?
Like this http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=297291 Use a heat gun, and a plastic trim tool, or your fingers to pry the lens out after you get the indicator body to the right tempture without melting the body.
The lenses wont melt easily there polycarbonate, and can stand more heat than the indicator body. hair dryer wont cut it, you have to use a heat gun ( with care) on its low setting. Don't worry to much its not that hard to do, once you get the lens to move a little on one end, go to the other end and get it moving, if you dont you'll crack the lens. Takes a little time but you'll get there in the end.
Hey Matt yeah the 99 spec ones in front bar. my drivers side fogs up after a wash but i could just re-seal it from the out side but ive always wanted to Audi r8 them the only way to do it with out looking tacky is putting the LED strip behind the lenses. got the LED strips for it ages ago not the usual flexible type every one uses ill post a pic later should look good thou.
thanks man your been a big help nearly put them in the oven probably would of melted the indicator bodys for sure.

The leds should have a long life span but if they were to blow ive sealed the light again with the same stuff nissan used 'sikaflex' so its just a matter of repeating the process which now that ive done it twice "left and right" its as easy as changing a tire just got to remember to lift the three clips before pulling lence off next time one sneakily clip back in as i was pulling the lence from the housing to much force not enuf heat resulted in a cracked lence but CAZ sell left and right separately just hopefully she has a drivers side light in stock get it done by the weekend. :br:
