you can't turn it off... you have to fix it. if your in safety boost you have a problem which needs to be fixed. searching will provide a lot of possible reasons why you are in safety boost and how you can fix it. LaterZ Chris :zlove:
Hook up with your fellow WA members ASAP... Seems you have a LOT of questions, which can easily be anwsered.
SAFETY BOOST More than likely its a det sensor issue.. i had the same problem, all you need to do is salder a 1 ohm resistor on the det sensor plug at the back of the motor . sound simple huh? there should be some advice on the tech links or try zed4life , you should take it to someone who can plug your computer into the software and that should give you a fault code ( code 34 det sensor ) good luck..
Re: SAFETY BOOST USE the tech page...alot of stuff to read, so go through it thouroughly...almost all of your questions are answered in here...
Safety boost can be caused by a number of things... & could be nothing more than a bad eletrical connection. Like I said before, get one of the WA members with datascan to scan your ECU for faults. Best of luck.
See Tech Index /Detonation ... err, WRONG. It's a 1 meg ohm resistor. But read up on the Tech Article as it is ONLY a temporary fix! BEWARE: Detonation may cause engine damage.
i'll be up at toms(zrated) house tommorrow (saturday) and we both have laptops and datascan(ecu diagnostics), can give your car the once over.. we're removing two Z engines.. so should be fun if you wanna come up there (quinns rock) give us a yell at delcarlo@iinet.net.au and we'll have a look at your car for ya and tell you what needs doing cheers Andrew
DET SENSOR Unless your running high boost ( 14-18 ) detonation is very unlikely... run 98 ron and up to 13psi and you shouldnt ever have a problem..
Re: DET SENSOR unless your cas is rooting up or set incorrectly and firing too advanced, or maybe a bad batch of fuel, det sensor is there for a good cause
Sorry Sorry thanks for the offer but i have a VERY hectic w/e! Someother time tho for sure, that'd be great!
