    Tech section to the rescue......>>

In the tech section is an article on cleaning and re-oiling the KnN filters, your Apexi should be similar.

    Filter cleaning article.

I suspect that your filter may not have been cleaned or oiled for a long time, and this is why you get such large amounts of water through it. When we leak tested your car the only leak we found was in that front pipe which was removed. The only other way that water could be entering your system is through the filter, and the fact that you have hesitation issues when driving in the rain would support this.

    Thanks for the article link...

One concern I have though.....Step 6 says to dry naturally. That will take weeks with the weather Ballarat is having at the moment!

Don't know if that'd be a good idea?

    "Do not use heat dryers"

Would it shrink/catch fire? Or are they just covering themselves in case of an accident.

BTW if anyone's noticed this topic & are after UniFilter care instructions, they can be found here :)

    red32 You talkin' to me?

I absolutely recommend following these instructions

I left my Unifilter untouched for around 20,000 km before cleaning it. I had occasion to remove the center-panel a while ago and noted that the filter was quite dirty (eff'in' black, it was). I followed the cleaning instructions, (once I found a source of the re-oiling fluid (at Autobarn)) and the difference in performance after the clean was quite noticeable!
