As the title says, what got you into these cars?

The old man, was hell bent on a skyline but he told me to check a Z out and was hooked ever since. Biggest regret of my life.

Went looked at a few imports, was really set on a S2 R33 Skyline. Drove a few of them, had a few grand to spend and three of the cars i was looking at sold. The zed was my 4th or 5th choice, took a few more R33 NA's for test drives and wasn't too impressed. Got into the zed and took it for a spin and couldn't believe how well it went for an NA(was quicker back then than it is now).

I had always liked them, but really wanted a mk4 supra. Couldn't afford one then though :p But the tipping point was when my best mate imported one and I mucked around with it a lot. Then his old man imported a couple to sell on when the 15 year rule was coming to an end. I bought one that he imported. That was 8 years ago, time flys!

My love affair with the 300zx began with the 1997 video game 'Gran Turismo' on Playstation. While looking at the various manufactures and cars, I decided I'd have a look at Nissan's range and then spotted the Fairlady Z (300zx) . I instantly fell in love the slick look of the body shape and the performance of the car in the game, allowed me to enjoy beating all kinds of sports car included in the game.

For me, a set of keys. 99% of the time I gain access via the drivers door, but every now and again I do jump in the passenger seat.

Wanted a convertible but could not find anything I could afford so I ended up with a Z31 Targa. Then a 280ZX (or 3) for a while before I found the Z32 convertible

    If you regret...

having the Zed, why not just sell it and buy a Skyline?

    Where is Brenton these days?

Personally, I wanted a car. Something with some kind of convertible/targa roof, turbo, and 4 seats.

Test drove a tt auto. Loved it. Went back and bought the manual that was off being complied when I test drove the auto.

    1991 Melbourne Motor Show

Remember being taken to the Melbourne motor show back in the early 90's. I would have been 14 at the time. Nissan had a black and silver Z32 on display, targa's off, bonnet open... It was their main display. And I just loved the look of them and thought they were awesome.

10 years later (2001) I bought my 2 seater NA, imported from Japan. It cost me $22000. Its so sad how much these cars have dropped in price now :(.... Considering that an immaculate 240z will set you back close to $40K, and even a restore job will still cost you about $4000.

Anyway, after about 9 years, sold the NA and got my now 2+2 TT. Still love these cars as much as I did 10 years ago, or even 20 years ago when I was only 14. Will never sell the Zed.

Walked underneath a house we were working at in 1997 & the owner proudly showed us his new toy, an immaculate, black 2+2 TT, first one I had ever taken noticed of, I was totally head over heels in love with that car, looked soooo sexy!!Took thirteen years from that day to purchase one

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore 300's and to this day I would still pick it over ANY car you offered me. What I despise though is the money pit that modifying cars has become, and owning one on P plates.

I remember playing around with a hot wheels car as a little boy, I remember seeing one down the street and being wow'd by its low slung body, and I remember one of my mechanics when I was a p plater having a couple. I was warned by him that they are a pain to live with but a joy to have.

Three years ago I sold my new car to get out if re-payments and at the time my brother had a 350z (I was quite jealous), so I decided I needed a sports car too. It was between the supra and 300zx but every time I started to look at surpa's there was this "fully sick" stigma that seemed to be attached to the car, and far too common due to the fast and the furious.

The 300zx seemed to have this mature nature about it, and had less of the "fully sick" crowd.

Took me a while to find just what I wanted (an aus-delivered Z32 with history and papers). Found a very well looked example which covered all my wants. Still remeber the day like yesterday and how awesome everything about it was, and it still feels like that day today! Love how most people have no idea what it is, unlike the supra.

    Great community and goods times.

Always like the look of the zed.
My 19yr old son bought his early 2010.
Had it for two days and handed me the keys and said: "here drive this foe a couple of weeks".
I was hooked. In Oct 2010 "kitty" came on the market.
We had the choice of a 7 day Bali holiday or several years of fun with the car. Car won.
Now we have a His and hers car and a parts car.

When I was about 15, we moved to a new house.
Every day when I walked to school, I passed this Red aus spec with Aus300zx stickers, checked out the forum and fell in love. It was still another few years before I actually owned one, how ever I had test driven a couple of z31's while looking for my first car.

I once saw the owner standing by it, and complemented him on it... He offered to take me for a ride, so I jumped in and he drove me to school. Pulled up, and all eyes were on me. I knew I had to have one.

I now have 2 in the family lol - and I'm starting to look at 240's/260's to restore as a surprise for my dad :)

My old man had the 280z and the 300zx Z31, I thought his cars were awesome. Then in '92 my uncle bought the Z32 and came to pick me up for his first drive, the moment that I saw that cool and sexy gunmetal grey 2+2 TT, I was completely hooked.
