Well i was getting my RWC today... and was asked by one of the dudes there if my car was a import or Aus spec....I told him i had no idea.... So now i want to know how can i find out (DUH!)
open up your bonnet.. do you see jap writing on the plates? if so its an import... where the lights are for your cabin there should be a picture of a guy standing up while driving with a / through him.. got jap writing under it? its a jap import.. look for jap writing lol
If you have NO rear side red lights and reflectors behind the rear wheels , if you have a wide numberplate opening with two rectangular reflectors on the rear bumper bar, if you have interior KEYED locks on your targas - then you have an AUS spec if you have turbos or only 2 seats it definetly a jap import
OK THANKZ oh! ok yeh i got interior locks on the taga roof, inbuilt alarm sensors and lights in the steering colum, no rear side lights, 2 red fog lights built into the rear of bumper and the long slim number pate space have 260klm odometre remote keyless entry english under bonnet plates.... thankzz heaps i felt like a dickhead today not knowing what i had
Thats the other indicators - being cool, intelligent. good looking and getting more POONTAG than the only roster in the hen house is an indicator of having a NA import, low IQ, excess body hair and odour, and a complete failure to comprehend your own personal inadequacies is an indicator of an imported turbo , irrational questions and a tendency to walk into closed doors is an indicator of AUS - Specs. hope this helps oh - I forgot to mention - the main diagnostic sign of an asian lemon model is its owner's totally inadequate grasp on reality, and acute and significant personal delusions of adequacy
I thought it was obvious -- we all know its ---- Bird guano under the owners fingernails - If you can't quite work out why that would be ---- then just give up worrying about it and put the roof back up while driving [and stop scratching your head while cogniting]
Some quick checks: Just to confirm what others have said: There are red foglights at rear of rear bar (yellow arrow) instead of reflectors on side of rear bar (blue arrow). btw the foglight button on the right instrument cluster lights the RHS rear red foglight only. There is ample space in rear number plate section of rear bar for Aus number plate (green arrows). Ausspec cars have a 260kph speedo rather than the 180 kph J-spec: Ausspecs have manual air conditioning rather than climate control, pic is of LHS instrument cluster (no LCD screen): Note, later model Aus specs had climate control. Cheers, Peter
The only zeds released in Aus were NA 2+2 Targas, everything else is an import. And no that does not mean if you have an NA 2+2 Targa that it is Aus Spec, it could be either
Thankzz Yep got the same on my Zed... thankz for the tip on the right Fog light i was going to see why the left wasnt working, guess i dont have to now... your pics are exactly what i have thankzz everyone:zlove:
