Posted on another forum when someone said they were considering a 300zx: "If you want a sports car, don't go for a 300zx. They are heavy, poor handling grand tourers. NA ones are slow (same performance as my Celsior!) and TT ones are criminally difficult to work on. Most mechanics I speak to hate the things with a passion. They do have very smooth engines though, and would be good to cruise around slowly in. Just don't expect them to go fast or turn corners... I have heard them called Japan's answer to a Corvette - that gives you an indication of what they are like. Drive a Z32 and an S13 back to back and you'll see what I mean..." People like that make me so angry!!!!:angry:
Guess this wanker has never driven one Sal:wacko: Ooh yeah I'm gonna go trade mine in for a Silvia (NOT)
I think thats a good thing Because people like that shouldn't ever get to experience what it is to own a zed, It's not a sports car, it's a lifestyle btw Sal you have a very sex zed :zlove:
hello well well well i will give you 4000$ for that z ( i like it thats why) and if it is in 100% i will give you 4050 $ and i came pik up on problem so when would you like to do the dill sorry i meen dill ooooppppsssss i did it again i meen deal :zlove::zlove::zlove::zlove::zlove::zlove::zlove::zlove::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::LOL::LOL::LOL::zlove::zlove:
Answer is to keep your cool  Most people who own Zeds are quite level headed and don't go slagging off other cars, especially other Nissans. It's obvious when you read posts like that they have never experienced ownership of such an advanced vehicle for it's time, and when was their ride ever worth more than $75K new? Oh Black Baz, you have such a way with words. We need your wisdom to sort out such a sad situation
i'll bet my left testie it was a silvia forum... in my experience, the skyline forums seem quite reasonable towards the zed (granted you get some dickheads every now and then) but the silvia guys absolutlely love sticking their claws into the zed... Oh well... Cheers
I'd just ask him why he's contradicting himself, ie bagging the Zed, then saying Sounds like good advice to me for someone to choose a Zed over an S13. Then finish off with something like - the S13 is a nice enough entry level car, but it can't compete in any area against a 300ZX If you really wnat to chuck a bit of salt into the wound, ask him to google "Sledgehammer Corvette" and compare THAT to an S13  General Information Price: $400,000 Miles Per Gallon: 10/19 mpg Curb Weight: 3671 lbs Layout: Front-Engine/RWD Transmission: 6-Speed Manual Engine Type: Twin-Turbo V8 Displacement: 5733 cc Horsepower: 880 bhp @ 6250 rpm Torque: 772 lb-ft Performance 0-60 mph: 3.9 sec 0-100 mph: 9.4 sec Quarter Mile: 10.6 sec @ 127 mph Skidpad: .98g Top Speed: 254 mph Braking, 60-0 mph: 122 ft :zlove:
That's right - you should never slag off another Nissan, unless it's.... one of those sluggish NA Zeds. They deserve a good slagging off.:LOL: Settle - I'm only joking (I used to drive one)....... CheerZ Vincent
I just laugh nowadays bunch of jealous cry babies who wished they owned a zed but their McDonalds wage couldn't pay for. So they try and talk it down so people 'think' the car they own is the best car. Silvias are still nice cars but not something I could call for keeps. The Zed has to be the best all rounder (touring, sports, luxury (some of them), performance, looks etc) and it excels in all fields.
Re: I just laugh nowadays Don't respond. Let them remain uninformed. More Z to choose from for the rest of us.
Japan's answer to a Corvette - that gives you an indication of what they ar Ummmmm right. Corvettes one of the top budget sportscar in the world. I would say that its a far better budget sportscar than any silvias or gtr's. All they need now is to bring out the corvette Z06, see how high that beast can climb up the ladder.
ive got an S13 silvia and a zed (missus drived the silvia) i tell you what.. never ever ever have i ever thought of swapping with her, she doesnt even get to drive the zed even though all i have done to the silvia is change the oil, and i cant count how many things ive done to the Z i still wouldnt give her up for anything.. especially with her new exhaust.. she sounds horny
To add fuel to the fire....... He goes on to say..... "Also, I wouldn't advise going to aus300zx for unbiased advice. Just like I wouldn't recommend going to nissansilvia.com to get advice on whether you should buy a Silvia, or to SAU if you were considering a Skyline, or toymods if you were tossing up between an AE86 and an S13 for drifting... It is a site for 300ZX enthusiasts, so they naturally think the cars are great. I tried getting advice on buying one there once - a pointless exercise if ever there was one." What's wrong with thinking our cars are great? At least we are right!
Re: To add fuel to the fire....... Hah thats funny. Said askin or looking for advise on this site for buyin a 300zx was a pointless exercise. Within the 1st week of looking seriously at this site (signed up in 2003) a few weeks ago I had pretty much found all the information I need to have when looking for a 300zx...the guy must have just pulled peoples strings the wrong way or doesnt know how to use a forum...
why bother he's entitled to his biased uneducated opinion. i know i wouldn't pay attention to someone someone lecturing me about cars he does not own. i'd would be outhere testdriving both and making my own mind up on which one to get. these are sort of arguments that will never end as they are opinion based to which everyone is entitled to. falcon vs commodore. evo vs wrx. etc. appreciate the car for what it is. no matter how good it is there is something better out there. good luck to them both.
obviously that guy never asks for advice from a sales person in a store i mean for ffs of course anyone who owns or is trying to sell anything is going to have a slightly biased opinion or they wouldn't own it in the first place, what a tool:thumbsdown:
