Hey guys, When I bought my car, it had an after market steering wheel. It wobbled from left to right a little but now its starting to feel like its going to come off completely one day. I need to know how to remove it without damaging it.

Not sure how to post pics from my garage but you can see it in these pics.

work out how the centre panel with horn button is removed. Either by:-
    1. Hex head/ allen key screws around the horn button
    2. Screws from behind
    3. Clipped into place

Once the surround is removed, unplug the horn wire then undo the large nut in the centre of the steering wheel that holds the wheel/boss kit to the column. As your wheel has movement in it, the nut is most likely already loose. Might require some sideways movement while pulling on wheel to remove it. Careful not to punch yourself in the face...... happened to this guy I know

After that, fit your replacement wheel, making sure its aligned centre.

BTW- well done on the altia door sills in the pic

Yeah thanks I wish I waited for your reply as I decided the only way of doing it was to rip off the middle bit where the horn goes. I took it off and managed to munt up the wood around it and now it looks shite so I cant really sell it (it had screws behind the wheel).

I found out why the wheel was loose, the actual bolt on it has loosened up because it doesn't have the other bolt that goes over the main one.

Also, ive taken a picture of the boss kit, does it look like the proper 300zx one?

And yeah im happy that I have the door sills (the sliver things, right) have heard that they are hard to get.

very difficult to get the altia sills. Set going for $480 on yahoo, if thats any indication.
Factory wheel doesnt need a boss kit, get a complete wheel to suit your model. TT or NA (hicas or not) and auto or manual (cruise features)

Damn, I better look after them then. I also have mud flaps wonder what other goodies I have on my car :p

Not sure why my picture didn't work, but this is the boss kit I'm using. I need to get another steering wheel that doesn't block out the top half of the speedo. For now I might just buy a stock wheel until I can find a nice wheel.
