i drave the car on the road last night and everything seems ok until my clock went off. i pressed the reset and the clock got working, but after 5 seconds the battery light on the dash flashed few times, then i lost the power, the engine was shut dowm but all the headlight and the CD are working fine. i lost the contral and hit the side of the road and got the front left wheel damaged:(.
can anyone tell me what happened?

    You had an electrical problem.....>>

and as a result the engine cut out, causing you to loose powersteering and power brakes, which resulted in you having a minor accident.

My first guess (from experience) would be that your alternator is dead...

When mine died (thankfully whilst I wasn't driving) I could get power to the lights and cd etc but obviously not enough to power turn the engine over.

Leave the car for a bit then try and start her up, if you hear like a clicking noise then it'll most likely be the alternator....

I got one put in for fairly cheap. Let me know if you need a hand source the parts and or labourer.

    Cheers

I just picked mine up from there, you can expect at least a week's wait. Was charged $130 for a minor ding, I dunno if that's reasonable as I don't know if they took the tyre off to do it properly.
