My zed rev's up to around 2000rpm on cold start. I can't find the solution to this in tech section..please help..
..... i was having the same problem, but then the other day i noticed a vacuum hose had become disconnected, plugged that back in and it hasn't been doing it since. don't know if this is the same for you, but may be worth a look. it doesn't take much to pull them off. cheers Jay
I don't like the sound of the big end's knocking before the oil pressure builds up. ouch! can't be good...
I have your solution.... if you dont like knocking, grinding or ticking noises when the engine starts up, you should install an engine Preluber like I did: Preluber I am currently doing a group buy for this Preluber if you wanted to join. See group buy section for details... Cheers
get a datascan done, check TPS & pull off your IACV and give it a clean... Check the tech section... Do all of the 'hesitation' things and do a vac leak test. When you have cleaned up your IACV and the electrical connectors... check/set your base idle (tech section also).
I will look into that.. When it doesn't rev high on cold start the motor won't knock at all... I run mobil one syn 5-50.
Could try a thicker oil? a 10 or 15W Its normal for it to rev high on cold starts although I dont think mine went as high as 2000 when I still had the stock ECU
I think its sopose to be around the 1500 mark on cold start up... Only 2000 mark car's that i knwo rev that much on cold start up are Camry's... But the engine is upto temp in just a couple of mins...
