what could cause a higher oil pressure on a cold start? it then stays high (just over 4kg/cm2) until its up to temp and i turn it off and back on... it has no top end when its high, sounds richer and backfires on deceleration...

    cheers :zlove:

Oil pressure will always be high when cold due to the oil being thicker. Stock oil pressure senders are notoriously inaccuarte when they get some age due to them being poisiton donwards the same oil sits in them and eventually gumes up with contaiminates giving false readings.

Oil pressure will not affect performance, just life of components. Purely coincidental in your case.

i wonder what it could be? as you say it is very coincidental as when i stop the car and restart it the pressure drops and the car runs great... any common things to look at that could cause the car to run bad when its cold? rich, spluttery etc... doesnt really want to go any where and is hesitant...
