So I have been tinkering with my 300, getting everything up to scratch and one problem I have always had was my headlights being.... not good... Ive installed the HID headlights form concept Z and they are just not bright at all.... For comparison, these are my headlights alone, and against my fog lights. Do they not get enough voltage? Do I have to pull my headlights out and clean them/the lens? The glass looks fine, the lens looks, cloudy? I;m just unsure as to weather the HIDs, the glass/lens or the voltage is the problem.... I have to drive with fog lights on
what colour range? 4300 and 5000 are the only ones which produce white light. it starts to drop off after 6k which is more bling than light and by 8k you simply can't see anything as it's too damn blue. make sure you clean your projector lenses too.
CZP Xenon Conversion HID Kit, Low Beam 9006 Bulb Only - Nissan 300ZX 90-96 Z32 I am pretty sure I got 6000k Wattage I have no idea. Had to modify socketing to fit into light housing too, but that was just plastic. Cleaning projector lenses is what I'm afraid of. I feel like its going t be a pain in the ass job.
Rag on the end of a stick with a bit of tape around it makes it super easy to clean the projector lens.
I don't seem to be. I have days off coming and cleaning the lights will be first on the list so I will come back with results!
Check the relectors. When I got my Zed I had the same problem. Turned out to be the reflector coating was corroded away. i got them re-coated and no problems now. WARNING. DO NOT try to polish the reflector as the coating is not chrome and you will remove the coating. It is an ultra thin layer of vapourized aluminium. If you want to know more details ask me. MichaelZ
I had quite a voltage drop in the cables to the lights in my silver zed - over1.5 volts. Very dim lights and the hid's not turning on. Measure the voltage between battery plus and plus at light connector. That will be the drop
As mentioned above, you might need to check the voltage. The picture shows a HID kit including an additional relay and harness that connects directly to your battery. You can buy this additional harness on eBay. It uses the factory h3c headlight socket as a signal source for a relay that switches the hid ballast to Direct 12volt battery voltage. If you already have one of these with your hid, then you have a poor earth connection somewhere.
