Hi guys I got a hicas lock bar from my suspension guy as I wanted 2 remove the hicas but when he gave me the kit all it had was the bar and a few nuts with copper washers spacer's and some kind of block off but I don't no just wanting 2 no if there is any one that has the same kit and how 2 put it in 2 remove hicas ???
Not hard Remove the rear steering rack, bolt the lock out bar in the same place the rack came from, then re attach the the steering arms into the lockout bar. If you have brass washers you probably have a piece of pipe/tube about an inch and a half long, these go in the engine bay, you use it to plug the gap in the fluid lines you get when removing the hicas solenoid. If you want to do it properly, you can remove all the hicks gear including the piping but will need to change to a na power steering pump/bracket or you can modify the tt (devein it) if u do either of these a na ps reservoir will tidy things up nicely
Ha name I only have 2 nuts 2 spacer's and 4 copper washers with some plugs of some sort so I don't no where thay go ???
This is my car. They go here. I dunno what the 2 nuts and 2 spacers are for... copper washers in my Z1 kit were for the hicas hoses to join to the new tube.
Good pics Thanks for the pics better than vague description, now do yourself a favour get a na resevoir, pull the ps steering pump devein it block output side of ps pump that feed hicas and rip all the crap out of your zed you will feel much better afterwards. Zeds are funny. Ideally you remove hicas and all piping and convert to Na rear subframe (no lock out bar, no ball joints and a 4.3:1 diff) that gives you and issue with drive shaft, so instead of fixing that you say I could get a shaft made to match tt auto to na diff, what's the point may as well change to a na 5 speed to match the na diff.. Natural progression of my hicas delete was a 5 speed conversion.. Easy to see why people but zed work in too hard basket, sell up/abandon projects or just pull out there hair.
