The Progress so far Still have to bolt up the trans and piping and it lives again :zlove: oh and pull off the stock cooler too
what the? I had to look through your old posts to see why you had an intercooler with one inlet and outlet. So this a single turbo engine now? Any more pics?
i personaly think its better this way the motor was $800 same spec as the DETT same internals and for example it takes 20 mins to pull the plenum and there is a lot of room to work And its retaining both turbos but with a single entry intercooler it should cost $3.200 all up and thats with a rebuilt clutch, turbos and a cooler
Another advantage, a 2nd hand engine thats possibly not pre- rooted! I don't think I've read anywhere about Chima's being hooned.Keep posting pic's.Did the single non intercooled engine clear everything when you test fitted it?Is the air con compresser in the same place? This could be a cheap power lift for an NA. It didn't need an intercooler in the Chima, why bother if it went in an NA? Any reason an NA clutch /5 speed won't bolt up to it?
Yeah it needs a bit of work though here's a list of the parts that had to be changed sump, oil pickup, dipstick , air con bracket, Power steering bracket, Engine mounts and some of the loom nothing major All of this came from 2 old motors i had i dont think you could retain the single turbo because there is an exhaust cross pipe at the back of the engine and it would be too close to the firewall dont quote me on that though but with two turbo's it's great. i dont know about the clutch as the engine with a single non intercooled turbo puts out 260ps or so but for $1100 you get an auto trans and the ecu P.S. Russ what state are you in mate if your in SA your more than welcome to have a look.
