Help Please - What am I doing wrong?

    This thread is troubling.

First off - The wastegates in the Z32 open at 7psi when operating normally. There is no way to achieve 4-5 psi unless you are not achieving more than 4-5psi from your turbochargers or your wastegate actuators are malfunctioning.

As Mclovin' has said, the system is very simple - the solenoids (when actuated - ie +12v applied) connect a bleed source that is inline with the connection with each wastegate actuactor).

Tektrader seems to be smoking some of the good stuff.

Of course if the mbc was set initially without the BC solenoids attached and then you plugged them in, u are going to have increased boost levels.

No-ones hatin on you either. Its just that some members have had personal experience installing MBC's without disconnecting the BC solenoids and have had no issues. I am one of them.

Your previous statements were correct also. Not disagreeing there. Guess it comes down to which boost controller is being used...

Refer here for other members with no ill effects whilst having the BC solenoids connected:

Anyways, despite the mixed findings and inconclusive results, it seems that the best way to install a mbc (and know there will be zero issues) would be to disconnect the boost control solenoids or remove them completely. Thread closed.

Yea that's the whole point otherwise you're running stock boost control along with your mbc set at a higher psi level than stock.

    Welcome to the otherside ;)

/thread with a victory dance screw being gracious. :)

?? Don't understand that last post at all, but anyways...

***Edit just took the time to read between the grammar...***

Other side? I never disagreed with you but merely pointed out that many members have run mbc's with the boost control solenoids connected and had no issues. They were all running higher boost levels of course (Otherwise whats the point of installing a BC in the first place)

Victory dance? lol, your statements were correct for the most part but it seemed you were convinced that with the BC solenoids connected, the boost would be uncontrollable. In many cases this is not correct.

    Conclusion:

Opening: U can install a mbc with the BC solenoids connected as stated. This seems to have varying effects. Some good, some bad. Many members have had no issues.

Closing: U are better off disconnecting the boost control solenoids for peace of mind as it appears that some people have had issues with them connected. The cause of this is still not known as results vary from car to car.

No you really should disconnect them unless you like running 2 types of boost control at once and having it spike, one running at 9psi and another at whatever you set it. :p

If that is the case and you feel your boosting okay doing that then good luck to you. ;) keeping in mind when it does spike/ boost to infinity & beyond you will damage your engine. Is not possible even probable that people who said the Z only has the solenoids active to (lower) the boost and controls boost only by the restrictor and have magically installed a mbc along with the stock boost control are just highly mistaken in thinking so?

I was just joking around mate, its all a good laugh taken in stride along with Pex, crowning Tekky, king.

With an attitude like that, I have no doubt you'll shoot your mouth off again and next time may not be so right. So sure I can take it stride and learn something new, I don't mind being corrected, what I don't appreciate is being corrected by an ass. I wonder if you'll be so gracious when you are schooled. I highly doubt it though. Despite all that, I will still say thank you. Anyhow, on to the next topic. :)

    Take a joke. :p

Its only because of being singled out and asked to face up to challenges like explaining how the ecu measures boost (which it doesn't) and posting it on TT.net and seeing how far that gets me by smart asses who don't even have stock boost solenoids in their car that any sort of competition surfaced. Not to mention being accused of providing the wrong diagrams lol. I for one laughed the whole time. Peace out mate, all stirring and hard to be gracious considering the above eh? :)
