Help Please - Bonnet Release

    Eastern Eye !!! MOST WANTED !!!

    Hey guys, well a problem just happened, i tried to open my bonnet, and seems like the bonnet release cable has been buggered, and now i cannot ass the bonnet, any ideas of opening the bonnet when the bonnet cable has been disconnected? thanks

    is it still connected under the dash.. becuse it hooks on to something and allows u to pull it might have come loose

    yup.

    If it breaks it will break in two potential spots.

    One under the hood where it attaches to the hood latch. If it done there you will need go under the hood and push the latch to the right off the stricker that's part of the hood.

    If it breaks where the cable meets the release handle located under the dash. You can try pulling the internal portion of the cable to get the hood latch to release.

    hi there, cool, well atm i not sure if its broken or just unlatched itself from the mechanism, when i get to eventually opening, and it is broken, then cool i will grab it, but just now its a unsure thingy atm

    If you are NOT running the stock Air Cleaner Box, you can get access to the bonnet release mechanism by removing the front splash guard(from under the bumper bar) and reaching up to release the bonnet catch.

    Problem has been fixed, took a bit of time, but got there at the end. Thanks for all the pointers and tip guys

    oh sorry lol, the problem was the cable detached or popped out of its original place from the main mechanism, i took chili's approach by removing the front splash guard, but really couldnt access the main mechanism from there, so after a few experiments, found away :), the main reason was that i had a air guide, which was blocking my way :mad:

    Sweet, it was kind of like getting to the last page of a book, and finding the last page ripped out so you didn't get to find out the ending LOL :)
