not sure if you guys have tried this yet, but i recently purchased a tv tuner for my pc (in preparation for GT4) as I'm looking at plugging my ps2 into the pc and playing from my flatscreen instead of my poxy little tv I've got.

anyways i bought a divco Fusion high definition tv DVB-t plus tv-tuner which has an analog input device so i can plug the ps2 in. I'm getting sound but only the beautiful blue AV screen.

the setting all seem correct, as i've followed all the instructions from the manufacturer. I've even asked them a stack of questions but they are completely useless. They tried to tell me that a ps2 runs of 60fps so it probably wont work (which is a load of bull as the PAL system runs on 25fps and NTSC on 30fps or else it wouldn't run on a normal TV either).

Any ideas on what i could do would be greatly appreciated.

been hanging for this game for so long, the level of detail looks awsome. looking at getting that new logitec pro steering wheel as well. i think this as well as the skyline forums are gonna be a bit quiet when it is released :LOL:

now if i can only figure out what the hell is going on with the tv-tuner.............

maybe in the setup for the dvb-t card

you can select the type of source for the input, whether it be pal or ntsc. it might be set to the wrong one, and as i understand, there are a few flavours of each. try hooking something besides a ps2 up to it (like a dvd or a vcr).

I was thinking similar - could be set to NTSC, or even wrong flavour of PAL

i noticed the settings only allow pal or ntsc but

i know there is both the standard pal and a 30fps (i think its called PAL60). not sure but i was chatting with someone else on a diffrent forum who was using the same tv-tuner and he was running ps2 off it as well but with no problems.... maybe a vid card problem

The wheel is definitely worth it!

Having frustratingly played it for the first 2 weeks with the dual shock (like I played GT3), the wheel and pedals make a whole lot of difference this time round as the car is a lot more sensitive to inputs.

Hard to describe but you will know what I mean once you start playing.

    Hi

There is a signal called PAL60. In laymens terms it is a hybrid between NTSC and PAL. Some VCRs also use it. Ever heard of "NTSC on PAL TV" advertised on VCRs?

Here is a cut fro am tech page:-

If your PS2 outputs in PAL60 format, then you will not be able to capture the signal with any capture card that I have tried. The best I have been able to achieve is sound with a black and white picture.

One of the services we offer in our own business is the copy of analogue tapes to DVD. A large percentage are NTSC ones.

I feel the only way you might be able to do what you want to do is to get a multisystem VCR, but that too usually would only convert your from PAL to NTSC or vice versa.

    Cheers

I have one of these cards

    And it captures no probs.

I have been using it to capture old video tapes to disk then burning DVD's with them on.

It took a while to get it going.

Are you trying to put S video or Composite video into it?

And have you selected the correct input connector for the signal you feed in?

cheers for the response graham but it's cool i got it working....

had a bit of vid card problem originally, but now its fixed. awsome for transfering all sorts of data plus the hdtv is good as well.

it's also good for some video captureing of good runs on GT3 & 4. hehe

i think its probably better than the vga adaptors that Waz recomended as it has a much broader use.
