i have a transmission problem, maybe you guys could help! My car's choke stayed on this morning, but the temp was in the middle as per normal. Then when it changed gears at first, it would really CLUNK into gear. Then it started idling at two. Craig took it for a drive, and kept turning the car off and then on, would rev it and turn the car off, he kept doing this and eventually the revs dropped to one. The POWER button keeps flashing when you first turn the car on and after a few seconds will stop. We checked the transmission fluid and it is full! Any ideas as to what this could be? I hope i don't need a new gear-box!!!
I dont think its healthy reving the car turning it on then off e.t.c You may flood your engine like that and further more you MAY cause some internal damage. i may have missed something but why do you think it is a GB problem. it may some electrical sender that is giving false indications. Maybe run a conzult and see if you have any error codes. Also the does ot always clunk in 1st? Has the problem gotten worse better???/ Terry
well... It seemed to have gotten slighly better, but is still there. And the choke stays on and idels at 2.......... and the power button flashed for a few momnents, thats why i think the gearbox, because the gears arn't changing right, they clunk and sometimes don't change at all so you just have to go overly slow and stay in second.....
Have you got access to Datascan? It sounds like an incorrectly set TPS problem. Should be 0.45v at idle. Also check the tech section and the online manual for how to run the diagnostic for auto transmissions.
IAA valve sticking? A stuck IAA valve is a common prob that Zeds have. This caused my car to idle at around 2,500 rpm. The tech section has a link which shows how to remove it and clean. Too hard for me, so I just disconnected the air hose that runs to it from the airbox and gave it a healthy (?) dose of WD40. Fixed, and only took about 5 mins. Worth a try. I hope it works for you. Lance.
bugger got your email, I'm afraid I'm also clueless on autos, hopefully these guys can help. - we sorted the TPS a couple of months ago, so unless it's gotten lose it should be fine.
Problem soved.... on it's own? Thanks guys for the feedback!!!!!!!!! But my car is now fine.... which is a little scary, but i am going to get the sensors etc checked out anyway to be on the safe side!!!!!!!! Thanks:zlove:
