Hello. I found a pic of the interior of a Z (looks like 2 seater.) Theres a cage that sits above parcel tray.. and it doesnt look like typical full roll cage. Any of you know what it is and if it will be any good for stiffening up car? Would this crap on the aftermarket strut bars we usually see? Also.. would the mounting points on walls be something Id need to drill into body for.. or are there points there from factory to bolt onto?
thats the 'miracle crossbar', they have a couple of versions. They're for sale on yahoo auctions japan all the time, pretty expensive though. also have this style. & heres the ads from yahoo japan, type 1, type 2 cheers, tim
Thanks all.. Bloody expensive! And from pics its only a partial cage.. wont do stuff all to protect driver and passenger when car rolls.. but on video it looks like other cars have more bars toward front of car
There are more benefits than stopping you from getting crushed if you roll it. lol Chassis stiffening etc
Hopefully never But saying that.. my gf .. typical passenger.. has experienced something similar when she was younger. Her older bro put her in the drying machine because she was crying too much .. she was like 4 .. and the bastard turned it on when 'she was out of control' FFS :nono:! Karma struck when he was sent to prison not long ago for unrelated incidents and will be there for a while. Yeah but again damn expensive! That pic I found was on google images and pointed to greenline and they have a simple cusco one for heaps less. I might pick it up. I meant if not when
Try your local fab shop or even a good exhaust shop as an alternative. Find a proven design and get them to copy it for you, it could end up cheaper than some of these off the shelf kits.
I've got a Cusco one, and I'm planning on getting it replaced. Finish is nice, but build is arguably too light, and I have my doubts about the quality of the material. The Powertrix one (an improvement on the Carbing one, supposedly) seems more rigid than the Cusco. Side note: A few of us in Sydney are ordering from Powertrix (see FSBB thread) and sharing shipping costs. If you're also interested, contact Rob260 as he is handling logistics.
WTF does that have to do with fitting a roll cage to your car??? lol I don't see any similarities between the need for a roll cage to protect you and your missus, and this incident with her older brother in a dryer?
Its not meant to be used instead of a cage, the idea is it stiffens everything up without going to the extremes of fitting a cage. If your more interested in rollover protection then for the same money you could probably get a local shop to make you a half cage. cheeers, Tim
