So I put it back in 2 N and rolled back down the hill and parked it and got tow truck home ... I have put at least 2l of transmission fluid it the car when I got it back home but it still won't engage in any gear but P.N ... Need help 2 diagnose it as I did auto diagnostics on it and has come up all clear ( 10 small flashes ) what could it be ???
My Auto had the same issue a couple of years ago, filter inside the tranny was clogged. Just drop the tranny sump & remove the filter, if you can see it's full of gunk then that's the problem (no flow, no go) you can buy a new one & replace it but I just gave mine a good flush with petrol & it was all good. Also make sure when you check you fluid level at the dipstick the tranny is up to temp & idling in Park. Hope this helps.
Do the auto diagnosis, you can find the manual shots and info from the following link: http://www.justanswer.com/nissan/2d...-transmission-diagnostic-i-put-2-5-litre.html This will help assist with seeing what may be an issue.
Did the self diagnostics and it had 10 small flashes all the same ... But I will be doing a service on the box as soon as I get the parts so hope it clears it up
Be aware when you do the service be aware that the tranny will take about 10 litres of fluid to refill if you let drain right down. dont make my mistake and get impatient. I drove mine with only about half the required fluid and burnt the clutch packs out
When the old stuff was pumped out of mine apparently it was black like engine oil. I still have slow gear changes and high fuel consumption. I think the age and high KM on my auto have killed it. I will however take it to get another service by a tranny specialist before thinking about a manual conversion. OP make sure you also check that the TPS is still set correctly.
