I am hopefully starting this weekend

    time permitting
I am going to shape them in some 2 pak HD Foam and then make a mould from that

not too sure how much they will cost
Dont know what is reasonable for something like this?

    nice work

if you ever decide to produce more than one, i'll take a set off your hands. if you sell them you could make a buck or two.

    Dont Worry I will be

if the moulds turn out ok
i will be posting pics of them when they are completed
    they suit 6 1/2 speakers.

I'll put it in the group buy section if the moulds turn out ok (even if they don't, I'll just start over).

I'll also try and figure out the price of materials over the next few days as I get it done.

Any ideas you think should be incorporated into the design? What do you think about the recessing of the speaker? Good idea (to prevent catching legs on speaker cover) or bad idea (may not fit every speaker perfectly)?

might need to recess speaker >

if you can hold the foam to the door see how much room there is for feet open and closed. might be interested in a set myself..

    nice >>

my infinity kappa's would look good without the grill on in a set of those

how were you looking at attaching them to the door??

    Well

Quite possibly the standard mounting holes, a fully backed pod that screws on through the standard speaker grille holes.
It may need one extra screw to hold the furthest end steady. I'll figure it all out once I've got my mould done, but that looks like the most likely way.
