hi all i have a big problem i have coolant leaking from under the dash i am not sure where it is coming from. I cant afford to fix it at the moment so my question is would it be OK if i bypass the heater core all together by connecting the 2 heater hoses on the firewall? Any answers or suggestions would be awsome as i am going on holidays on Monday and taking the car.

Yes, you can join the 2 hoses.

I've had it done to mine and have done 9-10 hour drives with ease.

EA Falcon heater core hose is what you want

from Repco or similar. Ask for the one that has a 180degree bend in it. Just have to cut one end down a bit. About $15 last time I checked.

    Definately safe to do so.

    And

I probs dont have to tell you this but just in case. Dont loop the pipes coming from the firewall, do the ones coming from the engine :).
Just thought I would put that in, just in case. I've seen sillyer things done
