Does anyone know if the complete heater core from Courtesy Nissan is the same configuration as an Aus right-hand drive? The pic looks a little different from the one on TTZed. I've had a leaky core, and replaced it with a 2ndhand one, which then started leaking after a couple of weeks. As I'm not sure just what is leaking, I'm going to replace the whole lot, and the AUS dollar is pretty good at present.
Slightly off topic... I'm going to sell the heater core I bought from UAS (GB) because my Z won't be a daily for much longer (so heater is not important). Let me know if you are interested.
They look the same to me. The UAS core requires removal of the heater box and some slight modification to fit. The genuine Nissan ones can be replaced without having to pull the dash (which takes 2 people a day)
Mitsubishi Mirage core is an exact replacement for the OEM unit, and is available for about $180 locally.:zlove:
Thanks for the heads-up, Lloyd Is it just the core that's the same? The rest of the piping would be different, I'd imagine.
Far as I am aware it's just the core that's a direct swap(I think most H/Core problems are a leaking core, rather than the tap).:zlove:
95 onward. Check with these guys http://www.autoheat.com.au/ in Phillip, ACT, or ring them on 02 6282 3986.:zlove::zlove::zlove:
on a similar note, does anyone know where the replacement seals, that go between the heater core and the tap (and the heater core and the piping), can be sourced from?
yeah, i am aware, im just woried about the longevity of the RTV gasket stuff. Im sure nissan used a rubber seal for a reason. and yes i know it probably doesnt need to last another 17 years
It would be a reasonable bet that the people who sell the Heater Core would also have the appropriate seals/gaskets.:zlove::zlove:
