Z32 Hatch struts

Hi again guys… more queries I want to replace the rear struts on my 1991 2 seater TT. I am a little confused about what to order. Some are for 2+2 some with spoiler and some without. Anybody got part number or site where I can purchase the correct struts. My vehicle 1991 2 seater turbo with factory spoiler. Thanks

 

You need to order gas struts that can lift and hold the weight of the OEM spoiler.
After market rear spoiler are made from fibreglass and are much lighter than the OEM one.
With an OEM rear spoiler fitted the hatch is noticeably heavier than one with an aftermarket spoiler fitted.
So you need to consider that when ordering.

Been running a set for more the 10+ years and they work heaps better then a standard replacement hatch strut.

 

I have fitted 2+2 hatch struts ta 2+0. They work fine, however they do lift the hatch a little higher.

 

What was length of 2+0 Versus 2+2

 

I think the extended length of the 2+2 strut mounted on a 2+0 hatch is 74cm measured from centre of each pivot.

 

The extended length of the 2+0 struts mounted on 2+0 hatch is 69cm measured the same way.
