The latch on my hatch had become slightly loose and was causing a rattle when going over bumps. Tried to adjust it and had it better but it very quickly loosened back up. Tightened it more and got to the point that it will tighten no more (you all know the dreaded point where you tighten that bit more and it gets to the stage that it feels looser - in other words it has destroyed the last bit of the thread). Now when tightening it to max tightness it will hold the hatch in the right point until you hit the first bump and then it is a tiny bit loose again.
How can i fix this problem? loctite it in place at max tightness and leave it till the loctite is set? How else can i solve it? Is it possible to get a new latch or something? it is rather annoying having it a tiny bit loose because it makes a bit of a rattle/ squeak.

Perhaps there's too much tension on the latch mechanism, which is why slight flexing of the body from bumps etc. is causing it to loosen. Try adjusting the position of the latch up a bit to ease the amount of stress on it. Might work.

puely theoretically you could try these -

1] replace whole latch assembly with 2n hand - Cresta /

    2] remove the bolt/screw completely,

2.1 if screws,go buy three with slightly larger diameter, and very slowly force one through to make the thread slightly larger- this one will probably get stripped a bit - then use a washer with one of the spares to get a good lock.

2.2 if bolts, go buy 2 Hi-tensile bolts one size larger, go to a tool shop and get a tool to re-tread at larger size thread. first just try tool, if it does not ream hole easily, drill it out VV carefuly and then ream in new thread and use new size bolts
