Has anyone installed passenger side "jesus bar" on a targa top?

You know, the handle you grab onto just above your head.

I've done them heaps of times on regular roofs, (the WRX has a really nice chunky one) but just wondering if there are any special issues drilling the targa thing.

Othwise maybe I could do it on the pillar like the s13 silvia?

If you take the cover trim off the targa, you will find two nuts with

captive washers at either side of the latch mechanism. These are on bolts which seem to be welded to the metal of the targa frame, but whether they are long/strong enough to do what you are planning is open to question.

Awesome! I'll have a look and if it seems strong enough, try bolting some

    thing up.

I suppose the worst that could happen is it shreds the bolting mounts.

The girls don't like grabbing the outside of the roof when it's cold...

and obviously once winter comes having the window down won't be an option.

The handle on the door is plastic and not really secured to anything, the console will rip straight out.

I can't believe nissan made such an obvious oversight.

I started thinking about it last time I almost ended up with a passenger in my lap.

Not neccessarily a bad thing, but she wasn't too happy...

I was hammering toward a long right hander with my mate and it was kinda disconcerting seeing him instinctively grab for the handle and then realise it don't have one.
