I work for an electronics firm and have all the stuff needed at my disposal Independent Electronic Boost Controller
Are a good little package from what I hear. Are planning to get their Fuel pulse/airflow changer soon. MattB:thumbsup:
i wouldnt touch the boost controller open loop, uses inj duty cycle sounds clever but wouldnt work as good as your average ebc. Just get a second hand jap brand one for $350 or less.
Your paying a lot of money for what a bleed valve can do In fact reading some posts about this controller suggest that even a bleeder is better. Someone mentions that the pulse width modulation control is so poor that boost fluctuated 2-3psi when valve was on and off. This is a reputable microtech tuner on this forum so i doubt he would be using some crap solenoid. Have a read , and make up your own mind. Nothing wrong with injector duty, i guess it can do just as well as an rpm map. Same goes for open loop however this means that because the controller has no idea how much boost your running the user needs to do a LOT of manual tunning to get it right. Add on the cost of an accurate gauge which you wouldnt need with some of the old ebc out there. Sure the controller is cheap but when compared to a used ebc theres a lot of missing functions, i nkow which one i'd choose. Havnt heard a bad thing about there fuel controller. Autospeed for some tests.
Injector duty cycle....Jaycar Has anyone fitted the Injector duty cycle kit? It would be a good idea if you have increased your boost and want to keep an eye on duty cycle so as not to run too lean. This kit has a series of leds with the obvious red leds at the high end of the scale.
I've been seriously thinking about it. There is loads of information in the "Performance Electronics For Cars" magazine at Jaycar and it's well worth a read for all the cool gadgets you can make up for your car. Also there's a thread on this topic on the Skirtline Forum. Click here to visit.
