I just want to use the harnesses during the odd late night thrash on the street. Single beam bolting to the rear strut towers is what I was hoping for. It sounds like too much trouble for what it's worth at this point so I might just give it a miss.
Careful Lloyd. Your wheels are made of alloy. The car's a death trap. Get some steelies on there ASAP, for the safety of those and other road users!

Since you've got a 2+2 using the rear seatbelts' upper mounting points would be better than the strut tower, already reinforced for the job and not going to move anywhere near as far if you put the back up a gutter when pulling a backwards entry at full stick. The Zs towers are pretty tough compared to other imports but still not the ideal mounting point.

Ultra Racing do an off the shelf steel C-pillar brace that I was planning to use for ages, knocking up something across the strut towers would have been less obtrusive to the interior is all.

    Martin,
At no point did I suggest that Alloy "cannot be used for this purpose"(there are countless examples of Alloy Roll-cages in use throughout Motor Sports).
"Cutting corners, based on Cost" was my area of concern(along with the safety of 'Fellow Z Owners & Friends').
As you slot into both of those categories, I am doubly concerned for your Well-being.
As for your concern re. my ALLOY RIMS, I would direct your attention to the plethora of "Top end" Motor Sports Teams, who seem to be oblivious to the logic you find so obviously apparent.:zlove::br:
