Ok here is what you have all been waiting for. Those of you that have bought GT28R's or GT28RS here is the Dump pipe solution. I have ordered enough parts to make 20 sets of pipes. The outlet is 2.5 inch. These pipes look similar to the CES parts but they are not the same. They fit better than the CES parts. All joints will be TIG welded, the final finish is Either Nickel plated or Aluminized. This is to be determined. The material is thick walled Mild steel. And no I wont make stainless. Its too hard to work with. IMHO the extra cost isnt justified. They are sold as pairs, drivers and passenger side. Cost is $650 the pair plus $25 for postage Australia wide. Delivery is in approx 6 weeks, I have ordered all the bends. Here are the pictures. Following some feedback from members about the turbo to main pipe transistion I made a custom mandrel to even out the size change. The business end, There will be a fence between the wastegate and the turbo side in the production models. Please post your interest here so I know where I stand with recovering my costs.
down like charlie brown! count me in for sure... and andrew i bet I'll have to start saving the pennies!
yes yes yes oh god yes.. haha been waiting for these.. any updates on the injectors.. leaning towards the sard 800s with collars at the right price.. just want that extra space that the 555s dont offer oh.. can you ceramic coat aluminized steel? if the aluminizing happens afterwards.. can you skip that on mine.. im gunna get em ceramic coated, my footwell gets hot as it is, and ive removed all the heat sheilding off the brake lines and fuel lines in that area.. lol
The aluminizing is a dip coat after its finished. It costs about $20 so if you want it left off no probs Working on the injectors. You realise 800's are too big. You want the injectors to be at near maximum output when you are flat out at full boost. (90%) If they are sitting at 60% duty cycle at full boost etc. You will find that the idle will be a problem as the resolution of the injectors at small openings is so small compared to max its not repeatable ie: the resolution is poor. The 650cc injuectors are a good place to be for 400 RWKW. 555's are too smallIMHO. I have mailed for a price on the collars. I see no probs with whipping up a few dozen sets once I have a sample.
no clue about the ceramic coating. If it isnt needed I would leave the plating off. Who knows what the ceramic would do. I will see if I can find someone to do the coating down here. Karl is just going to wrap his up.
nah.. i rusted out a set of extractors in two years by heat wrapping them.. maybe get a quote for a group of them to be ceramic coated.. would have to be cheaper than me just getting one, although tom doesnt want me having an unfair advatage.. so it will be two sets.. lol
