    Hey guys,

Ever since I bought my Z, i've had the dreaded vibrations above 70kph. Well I finally bit the bullet last week and had a custom one piece tailshaft made up. I got it done at Driveline Services Archerfield (Brisbane). The bloke who did it (Corey) did an absolute top job. Only took 3 days to make up from scratch. All new unis etc and no more stupid rear cv joint thingy!

Weighs alot less than the stock 2 piece also!

Oh and the best thing! --> No more vibrations! At all!

Anyone who has vibrations in their Z should definetly get one made up. Be prepared to spend around $500 though

If anyone wants my stock 2 piece - you can have it for $50. Just get it balanced as its already got a new centre bearing. I'm in Brisbane

Here is a pic of the new vs old shafts

Yeh I picked it up friday arvo and installed it on saturday. I wanted to post about it straight away but I thought I'd better give it a few days to see how it goes.

I did have to get some special bolts to make it fit coz the stock ones are too long for the new flange. But that only cost $9 from a bolt store.

They made it "drift spec" so its got the toughest unis you can get in that size. So i'm up for some vibration free motoring for a while :)

Im looking at having this done but not installing or removing myself :(

I am also in brisbane so i might give them a ring.

Doing it yourself is surprisingly easy, you should look into it before you rule it out.

Yeah you prob only need a decent socket set and some jack stands

If you wanted them to remove the shaft for you then you'd probably add several hundred $ to the bill. Coz they would have to remove it from ur car and then leave your car there for 3 days till they make the new one.

If I were you i'd just remove it yourself. Its not too hard to do:
Jack front and rear of car up (or at least the rear).
You have to remove the exhaust system as its in the way (you could disconnect it from the cat back or just remove it from the dumps.
Then you can remove the metal cover above where the exhaust used to be.
Remove 6 x 8mm allen key bolts in the tailshaft to diff flange thingy
    Remove 2 x 17mm centre bearing bolts.
Pull tailshaft out of the car.

The hardest thing to do is the exhaust (pain in the ass).

aligning the tailshaft when putting back in is easy. no need to put it in a certain way as its all balanced as a single piece.

however aligning the exhaust is a pain in the ass with a split system. but nothign a few blocks of wood and a jack won't fix
