I've got myself a 1990 TT 300zx GCZ32. It seems to run except for 2 strange problems: 1 - the "HICAS" light appears when I start the car and stays on for around 10-12 minutes then dissapears 2 - when slowing down the car sometimes stalls (scarey) Any ideas would be helpful  ?
well 1st problem, fill up your power steering fluid. If the level is ok then check and clean the sensor connector on it. The second part may be more difficult. Check all your other connectors, check for boost leaks, check your bovs etc. Usually the stalling is caused by your BOVs venting already measured air into the atmosphere, car running momentarily rich and stalling. Boost leak can cause the same. Do you have an electronic boost controler? You can adjust these to compensate. Also fill out your profile details so local members can offer help.
Ok - profile fixed - so the action plan is.. - To check power steering fluid, that sounds on the money because the steering is sometimes really stiff - I Don't have BOV's or electronic boost controllers, any other ideas there?
Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS) Check in tech section for hoe to adjust, that and base idle - car should idle somewhere close to 800 revs.
I can do a boost leak test.....>> And plug conzult in to check for codes. I work cheap (Bourbon) and have a bit of knowledge when it comes to Zeds. Based down Frankston way so if you are interested drop me a line.
