ive looked through the thread and cant seem to see, is there any details of the whole route we are going to take, or how far down the great ocean road we are going to go? im curious to know how big of drive its going to be?

but feel free to honk your horns when you drive past the Geelong Yacht Club after 11.. and say Hi to Waynoz if you drive along swanston street, just up from the Zed Shed!!!

The route will usually be detailed on the day by the cruise organiser (Kingy aka BADZX). Sometimes the weather (or even dodgey road surfaces) enforces changes to the route even after the cruise has started. So don't get too hung up on where you're going - sometimes we go only to Lorne, others Laver's Hill, and others Port Campbell. IT's all part of the surprise! All you need to worry about is that we leave Todd road Shell servo (outbound) at 8:30am, and usually get back there somewhere between 5 and 7pm. So it is a long day, but a fun day...

(and it looks like the weather is going to fine up for us too!)

 

Col, how long for you guys to get from Todd Road servo to the BP at Avalon?

These are the details for the mini cruise to the Todd road meetup point for the north people I have send out messages to everybody whose numbers i have...if you can join us please let me know

Time : 6:45am meetup so hopefully by 7am we are on our way
Where : Brand Junction im Bundoora 3083 at the carpark behind Coles

I have detailed the interior of my zed tonite...spend a good 4hours lol come on Kingy lol

I shall give her a nice clean tommorow so she will be all ready for sunday if i do have some free time im hoping to get my velour seats installed and possibly my clear indicators cant wait

the weather can be misleading. Remember last year?? Started off wet and then fined up for the afternoon. Dont let the weather fool you. It is meant to rain in the morning, and then clear up.

one of the guys that was going to lead the Geelong section has dropped out, so a few quick alterations have been done.....


Meet up on the Princess Hwy SERVICE LANE (Colac Rd) at WaurnPonds between Rossack drv and the Bunnings store.

Being in the service lane will point you in the right direction and will allow an easy merge as when we go past, obviously you'll see us comming along the Princess Hwy and wont have to worry about calls as to our location.
We'll be comming down the Geelong Ring Rd then turning right onto the Princess Hwy



Fuel up at the WaurnPonds APCO sevo which would double as a pre meetup point if you guys wish.



At this stage we'll be taking the Anglesea Rd down to the coast then to ApolloBay for lunch, parking at the Bay will be at the Golf course road as we have done in the past.

well its CRAP here. Its pissing and has been for the last 3 hours.

 

Bendigo crew now meeting at Bunnings carpark at 0615 for a 0630 departure..thought we'd better meet earlier to be on the safe side...

 

I vote we make it officially an 8:30 meetup at Apco Waurn Ponds for Geelong (Should add to first post). Big carpark, lots of bowsers and room, on the way. All meetup there and then head down the GOR.

 

For a pre-meet up that would be fine, but not for all to meet up as it will be too hard to get all cars from the apco to do a u turn from the Geelong inbound side of the princes highway to Geelong outbound side.

As kingy suggested the service lane near bunnings is a good place for you to wait for us to drive by, then the geelong crew can jump on to the line from there.

And given the melb crew will be hitting Avalon at 9:10 for a meet up with the Bendigo crew and fuel stop, we won't get moving again until 9:30, and through to Waurn ponds around 9:50 ish, 87:30 might be a bit early (unless you're all happy to get food and chat for a while).

The other alternative is for the Geelong meet up to be at the Avalon BP as well. It is only 20 minutes out of Geelong so bugger all distance really. Even bigger car park to meet up with everyone.

 

The weather has been a bit bad down my side but its clearing up well...im sure it will be a great day tommorow. Also the weather is being shown for Melbourne not through the Great Ocean Road as that is outside the CBD...so if still raining tommorow morning im sure once we get out of Melbourne it will clear up...

Come on guys...this is once a year lets not get worried about a little rain its going to be a great day with or without rain it all depends on the people that show up

As for the northern people meeting up at Brand Junction...the plan is still the same...will definitely be leaving at 7am sharp so be there at 6:45 if possible. If running late please call or msg me and let me know

Ill be coming rain, hail or shine. It has been raining all day here in Altona but it didnt stop me washing the car in pouring rain:zlove:. So ill be seeing all you guys tomorrow as planned.

That's the spirit guys, weather is a very localized thing anyway so even if there is a shower or two when we leave the remainder of the day will be great... god I'm hanging out, going internally berzerk... just finished vacumninginging the car and she's ready to go... I washed the z, this morning just before the downpour started in frankston today good timing i must say ahaha hanging out now, only 9 hours till i gotta be up again
