Absolutely flatout with work at the moment (one of the reasons I canceled the GORAN run), my schedule is all over the place and even the simple tasks are requiring sheer dumb luck (hence the highly unusual night time post)


To answer the question..... havent had time to chase it up as yet, will try and get something organised as soon as the workload eases off.

And for DaveG, if you haven't already seen it then this is almost mandatory viewing if you're interested in the Rod Shop -

Rod Hadfield's 3,000 HP 55 Chev

The car has long since been sold so we wouldn't get to see it, but it's a great story anyway.

I'm an Old bloke who just wants to see the Rod Shop before he turns his Toes up, It's on the Bucket List

If I can do anything whatsoever to help just let me know. I havn't had mine out on an official cruise yet so really looking forward to this one.

Glad you started the thread Kingy, was just thinking today I better get onto organising something...just been extra busy with wedding stuff

Below is the part of Daylesford I was talking to you about if your interested in adding it to the cruise locations...doesn't have to be a long stop, just thought its got a couple of good photo opps (long red rectangle is a heavily shaded corridor of trees along the gravel track, red circle is the cark park mentioned further on) and a good view from part of the road on the botanical garden circuit as well as a tall lookout at point B with a big round bitumen car park below in case anyone wants to setup a top down Z portrait.



It's also just an interesting look I think, some massive trees in there...they apparently have a type of tree in there that are the biggest trees in the world (these actual ones aren't claiming to be the tallest, just that species..they are still damn massive though )

Up to you guys anyway as I doubt I'll get a chance at the moment to help out much organising, probably just meet you all at Daylesford and come for a spin on the day. If you want to do that Daylesford part, we could meet before that first round about and lead through the gardens and out to Mt Franklin? Mick can lead for the rest of Bendigo / post Bendigo Sutton Grange / Mt Alexander part...that way I can concentrate on taking lots of photos

Oh...regarding the ice cream, the original Ice Creamery has moved now and have been told it isn't anywhere near as good and pricey at that...where it used to be though is a new Cold Rock Ice Creamery

I've tried ringing a few times but gotten no answer. I did find out that Castlemaine Rod Shop is no longer associated
with the rod museum, it's now Rod Hadfield's baby and they say that he "keeps hours which suit him"

I'll try again tomorrow. Good luck with KINGZ. How do you keep scoring such cool number plates ya tinny bastard??

I think I would still be up for it at this stage, pending Renee doesn't line up house work and wedding stuff for me to do ....would have to come in the beemer though, hope you all don't mind? I mean you all put up with the GTR, whats an M3 compared to a Skyline in your midst?

What was everyone's thoughts on what I posted above as well? I know by now it may seem a bit late to change the route, but its really only a small detour through Daylesford that I am happy to lead for? Or if your all simply not interested, that's cool
