Thanks Col, I finally got a look at all the pics. Great stuff, I really appreciate the effort you put in taking the pics and cataloguing the who when and where.
    Cheers mate.

It was great to meet you and ogle your Zed. Plus I owe you one mate for taking the trouble to expand on timing advances, Code 34, and pinging.
Thanks for your "jingling coins" analogy, very useful. :)

Then off to Bendigo we headed down some back roads and onto the Calder where the zeds dominated :D...Oh the smile it brought to my face :)
I didn't realise we were stopping for a re-fuel..so I just went to the next meeting point with martini_Z following me..

But then they all arrived again..and guess what? I noticed I got a bit of sun..bugger!

Pity I had to leave at this point as I started work at 5:30 :(...but I hope you all enjoyed the rest of the cruise..

By the way..I got a message from a friend obviously heading back from Melbourne to Bendigo..she said "Just saw 4 of your buddies on the way back to melb"...it put a smile on my face when I read it on my break..oh and just to add...it was a really shit day at work, so that really made me miss the rest of the cruise more :(...

Anyway's would like to thank the organisers "BADZX, R31 Gagz and MickW" for organising this, was a great way to spend a Sunday arvo :)...and was a pleasure meeting some new people...I still vote that Craig's car was shinier then mine :p...

...just a couple of random things..

    VIC Goldfields Cruise Pics

I'm finally done with the cruise pics. Next time i'd like to get some action shots on the freeway. Got a a nice one of Altered State but didn't really get much of a chance for more. What i'd like to offer as a very special deal, and also partly a forum fundraiser is a high resolution CD of all the group shots from the cruise, and any individual shots of your own car that you see here for $15 shipped. I'll donate $5 from each CD to the forum to say thanks :) PM me if interested. All images can be enlarged to arouund 20x30inches safely if you want to :zlove:
    Here are the pics...

Next time i'd like to arrange a proper shoot where i'll do a nice couple of shots of each car alone as well as some groupies, but would need to charge a tad more for the extra labour involved. Good opportunity to give back to the forums though and maybe enough left over to buy me a meal at maccas :p
    cheers
    Evan
edit: also, a couple of the guys are missing from some of the group shots for being late so I sincerely apologise if you're not in there :(

Sweet pics Evan! This has to be my favorite (and not just because its my car ;))

I've only just got back on the forum for a decent look around after a busy week, still need to put a couple of my photos up and respond to the post Goldfields cruise thread.

Must have been a busy man that day to make all those shots HDR...nice work

    Cheers!

thanks Craig :) Looking back on them all now, i don't think i did a very good job :( Next time I will have to set up shots with the intent of taking pics, rather than working with how people parked :)

I gotta admit that pic of craigs car is the only good one IMHO (very good at that). The rest are just happy snaps of parked cars, HDR doesnt make a shit photo better unfortunately.

Keep it up though I know you are capable of some awesome stuff :)

on a second look I also like this one if you would crop out the tyre from the car parked next to it

I think they are good pics Evan but like Hyper said just need some better car positioning...though we were thin for time on the cruise so it's not like we really got the opportunity to do a proper photoshoot...the photoshoot on Mt Tarrengower was just 'everyone park in a line' :p

Keep up the good work man

    Cheers!

    Hey Evan,

Are you able to post some bigger shots of these photos, they look pretty sweet but hard to see the detail.

Actually I might PM you and see whether you would email me some large copies of a few if you don't mind?

    Cheers!

    Thanks to my co-organisers.....
excelent run and a highly enjoyable day for all that attended :D
    &
ofcourse a thanks to those that actually decided to risk an unknown run:cool:

I hoped to get 10 zeds for this first run and we got that, and hopefully there will be more in attendance next year when we run it again...... yeah it was a good route and with something totally differant from the GOR run it was well worth the effort to put this one together.

Like any cruise we had a few minor glitches along the way, my major one being the "lost keys" which cost me a good 40mins right at the star of the day, this unfortunately held up everyone along the planned schedule and made the day just that little bit longer than I'd planned
    :( appologies for that opps

My only major issue was the roads 3 of us took back to Geelong......
WONT BE TRAVELING THAT ROUTE EVER AGAIN :bash:
10 rounds in the octogon UFC style would have been easier, I have some minor brusing where the seat belt was constantly catching my body before it was propelled out of the car along with a very sore shoulder (still) from being thumped up against the door.... sports suspension didnt do me any favors on that section of road especially one short bit that..... well to put it simpley..... hows your head Megan ??.... and they had the targas OFF

all in all ...... well worth running this one again next year

    :D

    Kingy

    Zumpstiens anybody ?

    Hi Everyone,

First of all thanks for everyone that attended, it wouldn't be a cruise without you ;)....and a big thanks to Kingy (BADZX) for organising the cruise and running it on the day, another big thanks to Mick (MickW) for all the time he has put into scouting Maldon and roads for the cruise and leading his part of the cruise. Also a thanks to all the people who produced excellent photos for the cruise debut...hopefully it helps gain interest for next years! :D

Sorry it's taken me so long to post, full on week followed by a full on weekend (so far). Just finished processing my cruise photos, there should be a few different ones in here to everyone else along with some double ups but I've left them in to help timeline the days events by photo :D

So I'll begin where us Bendigonians jumped onboard which was at Maldon, about 20min from Bendigo. We met up with the Melbourne crew at a bakery / cafe and had a good chin wag for a while, catching up and sharing Z stories

Then we headed up to Mt. Tarrengower for a photoshoot, here's some shots as people roll in to line up for the shoot.

The trick with taking overhead shots off the Z is to get as high as you can, then they still look pretty good, showing off that fat arse

    Contrasting Zeds..

Sturfany's absolutely smick Zed, this shot really shows the great original paint
    [IMG]

    Group shot FTW!

The fire spotter was on site today and very kindly let us up the top level for a look (& a chat I reckon :))

Spy shot 1...Mark (Jedi77) and Col (BigCol) on their way to climb up the poppet head lookout tower
    [IMG]

What a view!!....that's Maldon below and you can see Mt. Alexander, the highest point on the horizon, where we were stopping at the summit later on in the cruise
    [IMG]

Col had quite a good chat with the bloke and had explained to him what happens in the event of spotting a fire or lighting strikes...Evan (ZedEx) on the left getting his camera ready for some serious photography from a height
    [IMG]

Spy shot 2...Mark wording Mick up on the Zed's cooling system I believe
    [IMG]

Some mountain bikers about to hit some serious offroad slopes
    [IMG]

Heading back down the tower, anyone a bit unsteady on ladders I don't recommend you climbing the tower ;)

Couple of single scenic shots, would have been nice to do it for everyone but we were running behind on cruise time and had to push onwards to Bendigo
    [IMG]

Cruising down the freeway behind Stuart (Sturfany)

    Zeds arriving in Bendigo :D
    [IMG]

Quick shot when we are parked at the top of Rosalind Park beneath another poppet head (im sure all the Melbourne people are sick of seeing them after this cruise :p)

Most of the Melbourne people had run out of time and were stuffed from the heat of the day and so headed straight back, a couple who had no commitments or cared about getting back late headed off with Mick and myself for the last part of the cruise...some serious twisties :D...travelled out through Sutton Grange and up the back of Mt. Alexander, stopping at the summit.

The group braving the mountain and talking Zed Tech
    [IMG]

Brian (O'Connor Television) talking about some fuel line bypass thingamajig (wasn't really listening at the time :p)

Kingy grimacing as he opens the bonnet (engines just a tad dirty :p...goes damn well though :D)

Mick looking like he's treasure hunting in Brian's engine bay, actually testing the engine fan clutch as he's full on researching the issue...I reckon the way Mick takes his DIY car work he will be the new Z bible before long.

Damn!...that's a clean plenum Mick....the rest of his engine bay is just as spick and span, nice work Mick

Last images are from the huge rock outcrop on the NE side of the summit, spectacular view (I think that dot is an eagle as well ;))

Overall it was a successful cruise and I say it will be a definite for an annual run if other people are up for it :D.

    Cheers!

    Craig

PS...regarding the "Ugly" part of your post Mick, not sure how my arse came into it but I'm just glad it wasn't in the "Good" section :p :p
