Wow, just back from the Skyline track day at Wakefield, Great weather, good conditions, large fields and fast cars. been a while since ive run at wakefield, previous best was a 1.14.86, First session was a 1.15.37, down to a 1.12.09 in the second, reduced to a 1.11.31 in the 3rd, was out after 1.10's in the next, only lasted a lap when dropped a cylnder, into the pits, diagnosed as a cooked coil pac. got a short in the wireing somewhere, disconected the injector plug and drove home on 5 cylnders. Five cylnders zeds still go better than most of the cars on the road anyway. Best part of the day was to put the slot car through it's paces for a session late in the day, Many thanks JP, what a machine, light (by Zeds standards), nimble, and bloody fast, took me a few laps to come to grips with it after spearing off at the fish hook on the first lap, my legs are about 4 inches shorter than JP's and couldn't get enough pressure on the brake pedal, dam fixed seats. Thanks to ring in 180 for transporting all the gear down and to Oni who drove down for the day to support the Zeds. Drift Zeds woes continued with a broken control arm after half a lap. some pics. great times before the injector issue, wiz ..... .. just love the pic of the "pres" ... pedal powered, i presume ... they will need a can opener to get him out of that mini machine ... lol ...

Had a good day if all I could do is watch the drift Z collaps with a wounded paw. Was great to get back to a club motorsport day and to be able to chat to everybody in a relaxed manner. I have new inspiration to get my Skyline going again now! I did have fun on pit exit and on the flags, favorite point of the day was sending JP out in the slot car on cold tyres with Neil in the radical on hot tyres just comming onto the main straight... needless to say 2 laps later we had a great battle to watch... two awesome cars and some very good steering too! Ron, how much did you pay for the drive of the Slot Car?
Hey Dan Be good to see the Skyline back again. JP offered me a drive some time back, suggested we wait till we get to Wakefield where there's not much to Hit. Thanks again for the beer.
Great effort Ron, that's some mighty fine times. The track surface would have been a lot better than the last time you put some laps down after the resurface? Pity about the CP though and dodging all those liners! How did JP go.........did he get the magic 3's???
Hey Ports Missed you there yesterday buddy, yep had the bit between the teeth, getting quicker all the time. track is a lot better since they resurfaced it, although the braking area on the back straight is still bumpy, had the slot car fishtailing there under brakes on one lap. Didn't see much of JP as we were in the same division, he blew by me down the straight on one lap though pretty sure he didn't get into the threes, spent a fair bit of time dirt tracking it.. dam u got those times down pretty quick from ur previous best good stuff and that must have been one awsome experience to take the slot car out daymmmm :zlove::zlove::zlove:

Cars handling A lot better with the Bilsteins and the Re 55's on Chad, would have loved a couple more sessions to see how low i could of got the times, Oh well next time. have to fix the short first when i can track it down. Driving the Slot car, definately one of the highlights of my Zed career.
I thought one of the highlights was hot footing it away in my old car when someone else, dressed in a racing suit, got busted for 180Km/h and got off!!!! BTW well done on the times though Wiz, and yes I am a public servant with acces to a PC and photoshop so just remember karma can be a biatch Geoffo
As time goes by This story of the on ramp gets faster and faster. And anyway i waited up the road for you. And don't you talk, you were the one with the camera and didn't record all the ass kissing that was transpiring. Yep ZEDZY ground hugging side skirts, and even lower in the front with the splitter on, glad it was back in the pits when i had my little off at the fish hook.
