    Theres one here http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=723192 which is removal of the dash, and another one here http://www.aus300zx.com/tech/heater/heatercore.htm which is removal of the heater core without removing the dash.

    Just got off the phone with nissan parts in newcastle, they gave a price for the heater core of $555!!!, which is completely insane! Does anyone know of a much better price and if you do what is the part number?. I also called mitsubishi parts in newie and got a quote of $180 for one of their magna heater cores.
    If I cant get a reasonable price for a heater core Im going to repair the old one. Do these things all fail in the same place? I have not got mine out yet but if it looks minor I may just plug up the hole with some metal mend or solder it.

    Can you imagine what $555 coud buy for the car!, its most of the cost for some extractors.....

    Excellent, thanks for that. I finally got the little bugger out and found a pin hole leak in the end tank right at the centre water inlet so Ive plugged it with some metal mend and will see how it fares.

    heater core supply ....

    gazza ... phillip radiators in the ACT ..around $175 plus $15 for o/night delivery ...

    "method" also has an a/m alternative which requires minimal mods to fit ...

    i think that the oem price you have been quoted includes the core tap ..?

    the w/out tap oem is still about $450++, i think ...v/xxxy ..!!!

    I bought mine recently from "Phillip Radiator Service" in Canberra.

    It cost $165 plus $15 shipping to melb and arrived the next day, really good service. Thanks to Keeza for suggesting this place.

    I've just started the heater core removal tonight. Got the dash and the heater hoses leading to the firewall off with no worries. I recommend the silicon spray and heat (boiling water or a heat gun) to get the stubborn rubber hoses off a bit easier.

    I'm up removing the heater box now. Is it necessary to take the bottom off the blower and ac box to take the heater box out? Or is it possible to work around this without removing all the little clips which look like there going to be hard to get to?

    I got part of the way through this part before deciding it was too hard and removed the clutch pedal instead. Found a stack of leaves and crap in the blower and aircon coil though. While I was looking at it though I could see that the aircon coil box definitely has to come apart to allow the coil to remain stationary as its solidly piped through the firewall. Goodluck with the clips at the back, they are what changed my mind about removing the heater box, but the clips are very easy to put back on.
