Gone to close your glovebox... only to have it drop open again??

You've then slammed it a few times, but to no avail?!?

Try the handle, only to find its gone limp on you???

Well, fear not, there is a repair that is as simple as it is brow raising.

Photo says it all really..... rivet and cable tie FTW

The cable tie was cut flush with a stanley knife after photo was taken.... becauseprofessional

Never happened to me. Guess I've pulled them apart just beforehand to recover the upholstery.

Glove boxes are not too bad actually

this is my 3rd failure in 12 years (separate vehicles). Replacement assemblies are becoming increasingly hard to come across.

The spring is normally retained by a small rod, and less than 1mm of plastic holding it into place. 1 edge breaks, the spring falls out and the glovebox swings open.
