if your going to run the can to the sump . make sure you use a cheak valve . so, can then cheak valve then sump . 2 in and 1 out . the cheak valve can be about 2psi??? p.s make sure your (out) return hose is just a little bigger then your ( IN ) , no need to go crazy. .. ooww yeah while im at it , make sure the cheak valve is metal not plasic this system is good and has worked very well on some of the drag cars i work on back in the day . . im thinking of going back to old school and doing the same thing to mine . .
You can have the sump for $50 and the throttle bodies for free if you wanna come pick them up. I still have the sump bolted on the engine. Alex, Its called a "check" valve. Yes, and a good idea as it stops the oil from going back up the pipe on corners.
Alloy Welding I love too do. Peter save on the welding and send you polonium over to me in the post. I'l cut weld, shave hone what ever, I'll even weigh it before and after. The amount return postage would cost is a poofteenth of what a professional engine engineering shop will charge. Up to you. In my photos here you can see how I cleaned my plenums Race Car Road car I included all of the vacuum hoses for the road car back to a central manifold that is feed by the braided hose you see hanging off the engine in this shot (RHS rear of plenum) There is no reason that he throttle control solenoid could not be fitted to this manifold as well.
Nice work there, I'll definitely take you up on that. Thanks. Ideally I'd like to be involved with doing it so I might try and wait until I can head over your way or you're over here if that's OK. Otherwise I'll pack it up and send it over when I get a chance. Thanks again.
Not a problem. Either way works with me. I can come and use Tekkie's if it needs the cob webs blown off.
Thanks Graham, I was saying in jest as I would burying mine over, but if you are happy it would save bringing it over. While I'm at it pile up any thing you might have that needs metal bonding.
Pretty damn nice aren't they? There is hope for us yet Graham (well, maybe more hope for you than me), someone posted these recently on another forum, he's been welding at home for 2 years now...
